Jim is right, Limewire is legal due to it being shared files, but there is often quite a few viruses that come through, so maybe it isn't the safest of download sites...but then again, even sites like bbc or gemini fm, haven't got 100% security of no viruses so really, all download sites aren't safe. I have relatives who have used Limewire and it's completly mucked up their computer, but for ...

I have just walked up sandy lane and there were a group of people coming out of the bowling club when a car roared past, three of the people just stood in shock and couldn't beleive any one could be so stupid to drive at that speed near a childrends play park. I explained to them this is not a one off, it happens all the time.
EU look at the site Migration Watch UK it has all the facts and figures they are independant and advise the goverment
If Dawlish had a proper Farmers' Market it might also draw people in from surrounding villages plus tourists in the holiday season. This would knock spots of the so called attractions of a supermarket because: 1. All food would be fresh and locally produced. 2. All monies spent would go back into the local economy.
There were a few mentions on here about Betfred not needed. I guess it is used though. No complaints that HSBC Bank left Dawlish and as you know Barclays Bank pulled out ages ago. By the way is good Boots do 'Midnight Pharmacy' they had a right battle to get prescriptiosn didnt they.
4 pint's of milk from iceland £1. mars bars £1.35p total £2.35. 4 pint's of milk from co-op £1.38p mars bars 99p total £2.37. Iceland win by 2p. O.K. but who wants to live on milk and mars bars!
Very true .. many shops must be thinking of 'upsticks' right now. I see no reason really to stay put.. the holiday people will shop up Exeter Road with the FREE parking, the locals are queing already lol, so trade surely has to be limited in town.
I'm sure the photographer will decide the best place to take photos - which amongst other things may be determined by how many people turn up. That the photo will be taken on Sandy Lane playing fields somewhere will be enough to make the point I think.
Following a report in yesterdays Express & Echo, a Dawlish man has written a letter stating the speed cameras were sited illegally therefore he and others were found not guilty. He also said Dawlish Town Council spent more than £80,000, not £60,000 on the surveillance cameras which do not work at night.
There is a public meeting next Friday (11th Jan) to discuss this very issue of whether or not Dawlish needs/wants a supermarket. Dawlish Community College 6.00pm - 8.30pm Meeting organised by our MP - Richard Younger-Ross.
Dawlish will feature in a national documentary about the controversy surrounding speed and spy cameras. The documentary will be shown on channel five in the spring. Dom Joly recently visited Dawlish to film the two episodes. The first will look at the notorious speed camera in the neighbouring village of Starcross, which resulted in the wrongful conviction of hundreds of drivers. A Dawlish ...
There was a fire in the basement of the pharmacy.
Its rumoured to be from the old days in Teignmouth harbour.
the church derelict building and land its in the road past the swan leading to ashcombe i went and looked at it today
I have lost contact with my mate samantha whiley she moved to Dawlish about 5 years ago I have lost her address and moved so she cannot contact me cheers
Olive, suggest you tell Teignbridge District Council about this church land - and also make a big fuss about the waste in as many ways as you can. Write to papers? Write to local Cllrs?
Yes I know about contacting the land registry but Anon was more or less saying that s/he knew the name of company so......why can't Anon tell us?

Oh well, we will either get our supermarket or we wont, if we do get it (wherever it may be), it would be great, but if we dont get it, its not the end of the world either! There are a lot more things that we could be worrying about, and life here in Dawlish will go on as normal, there are more important things in life than a supermarket. On that note, i wish everybody a very happy new year.
Dawlish Town shocked Truro by putting 5 goals past them in their match at Sandy Lane to win the match 5-2. The result will help their ambition to finish in the top 2 places and gain promotion to the Southern League.
My goodness sad you have to post that on Christmas Day. What is a matter with people? At least we know what your mind is full of.
For what it's worth. World war 3 has already started. The powers that be have already got the wheels in motion. Iraq ? Afaganistan ? ring any bells ? National service is just around the corner go to. ...
P.s yea I know not believe in Tesco or any privately owned buisiness Have a Happy Winter Fest
A 77-year-old Dawlish man was left bleeding on the pavement as yobs ran off. The man, who was on his way to work as Santa in a Torquay Department Store, was dressed in 'civvies' and was about to go into a convenience store in Dawlish when he was harassed by six teenagers outside the store. The teenagers demanded him to go into the store to buy them alcohol, he then slipped and fell, the teenagers ...

Happy Christmas Webmaster and to all who post on this site.
Thought Dawlish must be a large thriving place (untill I looked it up on tourist information)Marks and Spencer Tesco Sainsburys to name but a few all coming to town maybe its just a joke and santa will be the only new face. Found this site by pure chance looking for ancestors in Devon. I live in a little town in Brittany no supermarket no chain stores lots of local small shops cafes and bars. Have ...
Both Tesco and Sainsbury's are going head-to-head in a bid to win the custom of Dawlish Shoppers. Tesco wants to build a store on the football pitch at Sandy Lane, while Sainsbury's has now announced it wants to build a store and petrol station on land next to the Shutterton Industrial Estate. No planning application for the store has yet been submitted. A public consultation event will be held in ...
so you did! .. now we see the people behind the big protest, wow they sure have the 'X factor' lol. Regardless of where the store is, I would prefer to shop at Sainsburys but I doubt if Dawlish will, the store though will have a wide appeal from the Exminster/Dawlish Warren catchment.
Because the Tesco leaflet is full of very cleverly worded statements, what appears to be the case is not necessarily so. For example, its comments that "the Recreation Ground will be left alone" and "We have no intention to develop or change the recreation ground" are only true if you go along with what appears to be Tesco's unilateral decision that both the area known as The Hockey Pitch (and ...
There's some land just the Teignmouth side of Hall Lane in Holcombe on the junction with the main road that looks as though it's been set aside. Why can't a supermarket be located there? After all it would be ideally situated between both Teignmouth and Dawlish Town Centres and the buses already go along that stretch of road. And, of course, all those people who live in Hall Road and immediate ...
Yep as said somewhere it is the answer.. that would put an end to the boring fair and Tesco would be in the centre of town. The town would not be quiet anymore would it? ..the Post Office can be relocated inside too, you can weigh your parcels with your shopping at the checkout, just so easy. Grass over the roof, add a play area and a slide, seats around the edge.. that will keep the kids busy ...

Olive - DADS was started a few months back now in response to continuing rumours about Sandy Lane being built on either for houses or for a supermarket or for both. DADS stands for Dawlish Against Developing Sandy Lane. Whilst DADS will do everything it can to prevent Sandy Lane Recreational Area from being developed for commercial, retail, or residential purposes in principle it is not against ...
