Retired if you have to pay council tax then you have a private pension. I dont pay it because I am on the minimum state pension/pension credit
AT LAST!!!! Flood signs along the Exeter Road. The road has been flooded most of the day and it's now 18.00hrs and we have flood signs put up. Maybe they waited until they were paid extra time? There are approximately 6 drains between the Rockstone Flats and the Catholic church and 5 of them are always blocked. Why aren't they cleared regularly? Is that not we pay part of our council tax for?
Ever wanted to give up on shops and supermarkets? Ever dreamed of growing your own food and rearing your own animals? Ever fancied being on TV? If the answer to all three questions is Yes then why not get in contact with KEO films, the makers of River Cottage. They are looking for families who have had no experience of gardening or smallholding or farming but who are ready to commit to an ...
If its true that the council are housing a family from Liverpool thats unfair. I know a couple who have lived here for about 30 years they have to move to a ground floor flat for health reasons the council are going to help them but they have to move to Torquay. Their family and friends live in Dawlish they are devistated, and cannot find anywhere private to rent
well for ur caravan to do that it will have to go over the railway lime so i wouldnt worry to much, just enjoy ur stua and tell other how lovely we all are here well most of us but like most places we have our idiots young and old
this is a good idea. I visited Ludlow last summer and the place is lovely, old buildings with lots of character. There is a market which is on most days promoting local food and it seems really popular. As a regular visitor to Dawlish I think this would be a great attraction.
Hope all is ok in Dawlish. Just seen the coast on the news looks bad. We have had high winds here on Severn Estuary and some fences are down but not heard of anything worse than that so far. Take Care
Stretches of the Devon coast are at severe risk of flooding as persistent rain and gale-force winds were forecast to batter the county today. People are being warned to stay away from the coastline as heavy rain is expected to continue throughout much of today, while gale-force winds are predicted to cause some damage to property. Richard Horrocks, Regional Flood Risk Manager for the ...
Happy I make someone happy its all cool mad but not bad
Apparently asking where the money goes on salaries is personal information where is freedom of information gone do not trust them
Dawlish is to have a open air ice rink for the three day May Day bank holiday from 3rd to 5th of May. The town council chipped in £1,000 towards the hire charge. The rink is organised by the Dawlish Chamber of Commerce at the cost of £4,000. It is hoped it will attract thousands of visitors to Dawlish. The rink will be set up on the lawn and will also have a snow machine and penguin mascots ...
The trustees have had the money since 2005 over £46,000 has any of it been used or is it in the bank making interest
The cameras were probably paid for out of the regeneration money. If thats true about the council then it is disgusting we are supposed to have freedom of press
I do not think you mean a closed shop, they are certainly not! What you may mean is, that topics have already been decided upon and what ever you say will not make a jot of difference. That is where public participation comes in. Go along and try it!
I also have a wife that works hard and two children, but it seems the harder you try the less you get. But one day we might get rewarded (hopefully).
I wasn't talking about ethics, I was talking about the cheap supply of food. Although I agree that the two are linked.
He'll burn it again. Seems obvious.
Agree about pasties aslo clotted cream There is loads of good things in Dawlish. There is a good curry shop in Teignmouth was just pointing out Paradise Palace is expensive and The curry shops in Birmingham are fantastic
i stayed there a few months ago and would thoroughly recommend the place. the two chaps are smashing and only too happy to oblige. beautiful location too.
Councillors get paid an allowance and expenses. Its the district council who take the bulk of "local tax "oh I mean council tax. The district and county council are the ones with the hoards of managers and handouts. My daughter used to be a p.a to one of them she was shocked at the waste of money, thats our money. The majority of council meetings are behind closed doors why, we should be able ...
My housing needs are sorted I am moving to York (where my sister moved). There is a lot of good affordable places to rent and a lot of well paid jobs
Have you wondered why there's a lot of negativity on this site? Maybe it's because there's not a lot to be positive about.

When he lived in Greater London many years ago, Graham Burchell was familiar with the expression, you wait ages for a bus and two come along together. He didn't figure that years later as an award winning poet and children's author living in Dawlish, he would be able to say the same about the publication of his poetry books. Two slim works, sometimes referred to as chap books have been published ...
There are many many people like yourselves.A lot of those who oppose new housing especially Affordable Housing are worried their propertys value will go down
Unfortunately people think that we should pay a premium for living in such a beautiful part of the country. I have two teenage children that work had but will never be able to afford to get onto the property ladder nor can they rent anywhere because domestic bills are to high. They have now both decided that they may be better off moving away. In my mind this is wrong as they have been priced out ...
When you say the secondary school wasn't interested can you explain what you mean please.

The new ship marks the beginning of what residents hope will be a total revamp of the Millennium Play Area in the grounds of Manor Park.Teignbridge Council has agreed to pay for the pirate ship and residents have formed an action group to raise funds for more ...
