I have had an email from the Town Council re the Youth Club.
There is no going to be any alcohol on the premises.
It is not going to be a drop in centre for drug/alcohol abuse.
Maybe now the rumours can stop.
If anyone wants full details suggest they email the council themselves.
The question is, would Dawlish Town Council tell you any different?
They've been reticent with the truth in the past, what makes this email any different? If they are that open, why is their website so lacking in complete information and bereft of interaction with the residents they serve?
Lets be logical about this. In this ever increasing P.C., world, do you honestly think that a Youth Club where children from around 10 years old will attend that alcohol/drugs will be on the premises let alone users and abusers
You'd better believe it! Look at the recent vandalism at the yet to be completed skate park. A sign of things to come?
We have Councillors whose only aim was to herd all the skaters into one space in the hope they would contain any so-called nuisance element and control them.
What they forgot to realise (as they are so out of touch), is that skaters do not wish to be hemmed in and that the very essence of this sport is the anywhere and everywhere challenge of street obstacles and the exhibitionism of their skills to all and sundry.
So, how out of touch are our Councillors with the reality of the new Youth Centre?

I see we have a wibbler on this forum, who's only word in the vocabulary is wibble. Poor sucker, those are they ones that are taken advantage of by the so-called do gooders. SAD, SAD, SAD!
It seems 'disaffected' Roy(or Joey Deacon as he was previously named) can only muster comment when it concerns charities collecting money, of which he is personally involved, hence his candyfloss-fluff PR postings.
In fact, he will post anything that ensures there is no rocking the boat of potential 'bucket' filling/money collecting.
The Truth always overcomes lies.
This is copy of the correspondence that I've been involved in regarding the Youth Centre. These emails were sent immediately before and during my recent vacation (did you miss me?).
The only changes made to these emails are to protect my anonymity.
Hopefully this will be the end of the fabrications being put about by the usual suspect(s).

Hi,
I was hoping you could help me with my enquiry re. the above subject.
I've been told that the proposed Youth Centre is going to contain a bar serving alcoholic beverages and that it's also going to be the home for a drop-in centre for youths that suffer from drug/alcohol related problems.
Could you please shed some light on whether there is any basis of fact in this rumour that is doing the rounds. A response would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Hi Mike,
Grateful if you could answer the attached enquiry; is it possible for Devon youth service to make it clear to the residents what will be operating in the new youth centre either through the press or open letter. Many thanks
Regards
John

Dear ******
My name is Mike Stevens and I work for Devon County Council, Devon Youth Service and I am responsible for youth services in Teignbridge. I can tell you that under no circumstances that the building is going to be a drop in centre for young people who have a dependency on drugs or alcohol. And under no circumstances will there be alcohol consumed on the premises. I am disappointed that people are scaremoungering. The rumours are not true.
Cheers
Mike
I wonder what the Angry Mob will have to say about that?
He'll probably claim that you're John Winchester AND Mike Stevens!
So Dullish, are you saying that you do not accept that the rumours "you and your kind" have been peddling are scare-mongering lies?
You've been presented with The Truth, yet you are still in denial because it doesn't fit your narrow-minded agenda.
I don't expect an apology from you or Laughing Boy for your lies, because that would require an admission from you that you were wrong. And that simply wouldn't do, would it?
