I feel sorry for his wife and absolute disgust at Plymouth Council, but as we all know Councillors get carried away with their own ego's,power and self gain.

I may be misreading the intention of your post which appeared to express sympathy to the man's wife but not for the distress of the man himself.

According to the article, he was not a councillor. He was an employee of the council who found himself unable to reconcile his personal ethical standards with the Counci's expenditure.

Ethical.....now there's a word you wouldn't associate with Dawlish Town Councillors.

If only some of them had the courage to own up to their malfeasance and fall on their professional swords, what a better place it would be.
