Four air rifles worth £1,600 were among the haul of a Paignton man who went on a crime spree across Devon. More than £2,000 worth of cosmetics were also stolen by Robert Francis, 49, of Hoxton Road, Paignton.Exeter Crown Court heard the air rifles were stolen from Ladd's of Crediton and by the time the owner realised what had happened, Francis had taken the guns and was speeding off in a getaway ...
The Fair pays money to Teignbridge Council for the use of the Lawn - it would be interesting to know how much goes back into the repair of the Lawn or even if any of it comes back to Dawlish at all. It really annoys me that if you want to hold a charitable event on the Lawn there are loads of conditions to be met, including no burger vans etc yet a commercial venture like the fair can do what ...
those same risk policies etc apply in the schools in Caistor & other parts of the country if they can do it why not Dawlish schools that excuse is a cop out
Rainbow you moronic fool how else do you expect Force to sell homes??! Of course they'll charge commission too- i'm sure YOU wouldn't work for nothing! lol
Sorry webmaster. In "Notices" and "Backyard", there is a topic, "Manor park play area". I happened to look at the wrong one. As you can see it caused confusion.
Dawlish and Teignmouth fire crews helped get a man out of a vehicle which was balancing in a precarious position. The firefighters went to Cockwood, near Exeter, to help a man stuck in a Jeep balancing over a one-metre drop. It happened at about 10.24am yesterday in Church Lane. Teignmouth fire station's crew commander Matt Radford said: "He was coming down a lane from a field and the ...

Just received a phone call from Teignbridge. Apparently the toilets at sandy lane are closed for safety reasons, something to do with a faulty top grid on the door. He said hopefully it will be repaired sometime today
Well I was 'positive' about the new Coop and who was the first to rubbish that? lol. Re that.. will Tesco give to the Carnival Committee like the local shops in Dawlish here are expected to. There is nothing wrong with Dawlish, the World, just the people in it.
Thanks for that I will look into it
If you do move to the area please do think of the town and put your money into the area you have chosen to move to. Dawlish has many lovely shops and if time is taken you will find a lot of things between Dawlish and Teignmouth to spend your money on instead of going out to Tesco or such like.
I haven't seen any critiscm about Dawlish shops on this site????
cant agree with you I encouraged my kids to leave what is there here for the Ah yes pubs expensive acomodation and black swans!

The famous black swans of Dawlish are 'fleeing' the resort because they are at risk from being savaged by dogs, it is being claimed.Locals say the Brook, where the swans 'live', has silted up so badly in places, that dogs can wade out and attack them and other exotic waterfowl. Now there is a call for the waterway to be dredged to maintain a good level. Three swans left for an 'awayday' on ...
'Who cares' hmmm that just about sums Dawlish up. I notice the shop for sale in the Strand, a chance for a local to open something you say is needed. Who is brave? .. you need to be as you wont get local trade. Thank goodness for holiday trade.
There are a few middle-aged people in Dawlish who (slightly unadventurously) have lived in the town for their entire existence, but are there any who in the course of their life have never left Dawlish even for a day trip? i.e never been east of Langstone Rock or west of Smugglers Inn?
Unfortunately Steve there is always a minority that don't like to see other people having fun - jealousy makes you nasty. Dawlish wouldn't survive without people like you spending your hard earned cash in our town. Keep Dawlish tidy and have a great holiday!
Now that the smoking ban has kicked in and it is an offence to drink outside the pub £75 smackers if you are caught, make sure CCTV can't see you. If it can, then you could also end up paying another £75 smackers for dropping your butt on the ground(litter). You have been warned and it could be a costly drink.
Before I get any rude comments, my apologies for the heading CCTC which of course should be CCTV

Well said ! You know people can always say to the Estate Agent .. 'I do not want to sell at that high price, sell it for less'. I was in Sussex last week, houses are more expensive there than Dawlish. I see there is a shop in the middle of town for sale, a chance for a local in Dawlish to set up something you keep wanting? .. but then they will miss it, as you say they are sat in the pub lol.
Devon's unseasonably cool and wet summer weather is starting to hit tourist businesses in the back pocket.Ice cream parlours and other businesses in Dawlish Warren say the persistent rain is keeping tourists away. This time last year, the resort was packed with visitors, but it currently resembles a ghost town. Carnival rides near the Warren's seafront were deserted yesterday as summer visitors ...
I'ts a shame we don't have wardens for uncontrolable yobs with finds for their owners/parents as they are as much a threat or even more than our four legged friends
