I have been a frequent visitor to the Dawlish "LIVE" forum, and have enjoyed many of the posts you enlightened people have to offer. However, it is now that the time is right that the truth be revealed. Dawlish NEEDS answers!!
I have noticed that there has been much discussion regarding the councils' actions, and in connection to rumours linked to "brown envelopes" being passed from party to party. This strikes a real cord with me as I have always thought of England as a (relatively) corruption free zone, but I feel that the rot of decadence eats at our community leaving a foul stench in the air.
For those of those who are unaware of the hot current events, I am speaking of the sudden disappearance of Jonathan Wright from the Gazette. I can't fault his editorial prose, and the good he did for many members of the community, even me, particularly when he exposed the council trying to hold back funds for the Sandy Lane skate park - in many ways I wish he was still with us. However, now that he has been gone from his position for over 6 months, I know for a fact that he has cashed in his offshore account, made fat from the conspiracy and corruption of the Council, of which I have proof, and is on a beach enjoying his "early" retirement - he is a mere 21! I understand that he took 17 per cent of profit from the sale of the Leonard Lamb Centre, and is still receiving regular account top ups to "buy his silence". And all this after hard working people like us (I am 69 by the way), who have struggled the bring up our families and retire to the coast to spend our twilight years.
What with council tax increasing all the time, whilst some of us are on a fixed budget, extra fuel bills in the winter and the recession looming, I ask: can we ill afford valuable government funds be spent in a way that merely increases the Council's "Public Image" to cover up their grievous, and some may say, nefarious ways.
