Councillors!
Why did you not informn us of this 'suspect' Youth Centre?!
Can you explain why very little information was in the public domain when you are in council to represent us?
Protheroe, Hockin, Mugford, Clemens, Price, Wills etc.....explain on this site why you have ignored the residents you purport to represent?!
If you do not respond to my questions i will assume;
1) you are ignoring out of arrogance.
2) you are so out of touch that you do not understand the way the electorate communicate.
smell the response of a smelly councillor. you have been enjoying impunity now you dont like the fact the magnifying glass is out. I suspect barry cunliffe and david force are posting to protect protheroe
Walter Protheroe is full of deceit. How many more more times will he be Mayor to enhance his personal fortune? Corrupt man!
All those names you keep coming up with, you must be a private detective. I think its Mrs Marples trying to protect those pesky councillors. You come up with as many names as you use as aliases for posting.
But you know that I and Deacon arent the same person, I'm a right wing bigot and he's a lefty commie. The only thing we share is the enjoyment of ripping the piss out of you.

I wouldn't, not out of cowardice but beacuse this forum is considered a joke by a huge amount of the Dawlish population.
What could have been an interesting forum full of local issues, national or worldwide interest, or even just a fun place to visit has degenerated into a place for conspiracy theorists to air their strange ideas about the influence that town councillors have - whereas the truth is very little!
The lack of moderation here makes this place a hive of embittered sad cases who presumably have very little life away from their computer screens.
If there is any evidence to back up the accusations of pocket lining please feel free to post it and prove me wrong, I'd love to eat humble pie, it's my favourite type but I fear I shall be going hungry again.
If there was proper moderation on this forum like other town websites then the posts would have credability. As you say it is not possible to take it seriously at all.
Would You? = Chicken Shed. We have plenty of evidence. That's why you are squirming. Once we have ousted W.Protheroe with his dubious dealings then the rest of you will follow like sycophantic domino's. We are going through the right channels ( we use this forum to enlighten others ), which will inevitably see your necks in a noose.
As regards pseudonyms, why doesn't Chicken Shed divulge to us all which Councillor he is? He will probably remain the hypocrite he is. Dawlish Town Council are corrupt.....look at the debacle that is the multi-use Youth Centre. Rotten to the core.
You won't stop our investigation....too many websites exposing your collusion and ineptitude.
Conspiracy theorists or people who know how corrupt Dawlish council is? If you put council meetings and minutes under the microscope you will see the collusion there in black and white. That's why town clerk winchester and the councillors have ensured that the dawlish town council website only gives out information they want us to know, while keeping back information that is readily available on other town council websites.
For years these councillors have got away without any policing of their council work. Now the spotlight has been shone on their corruption through public journalism, they don't like it. They had better get use to it, as we will pursue this to the end. Some councillors have already jumped ship.....watch the money-grabbers cling on.
After the lies about our Youth Centre, i wouldn't trust our Mayor or Councillors. The word is spreading around the Town and there are a lot of angry parents. I also blame John Anthony, he knew all along about this. The names of Protheroe, Hockin, Mugford, Clemens, etc will forever be connected with dragging Dawlish down for their own greed. How can we get rid of this shambles?!
First of all, you have to demand transparency. Then you have to ensure that all meetings are recorded.(By that I mean , TAPED for the record). Then you have to demand that when the minutes are written up, that it can clearly be seen who has voted, who has not and who abstained on any subject they are voting on. That way we shall all know who has or has not been doing what they said they would do, "represent you".
At the moment you have none of those in place and that is why they get away with what they do.
The only way to keep the pressure up, is to write or email the Town Clerk asking why none of the above is in place. Do not be affraid, they are your servants, you are not theirs. They asked if they could represent you and you put your trust in them by giving them your vote.
Demand your rights and do not stand for any kicking into touch, get an answer.
The local news paper is a waste of space, it will only publish what they want you to know about, not what is your right to know.
Last week, Dawlish Gazette July 23 2008, had one view point, "When is a youth centre not a youth centre?". What investigative journalism has there been to answer that question before it was raised in the paper?
Would You? is not me and i have nothing to hide . I am not a councillor and never have been . As i say i am a Right -winger like numerous others in the Town but unfortunately the party i would vote for has no seats.
I still stand by my original statement(months ago), that Roy/Viaduct/Anon like to moan but do nothing about it.

My god, what is this fixation with Town Councils and made up names. I have been reading the posts on here as I came across this website/forum whilst looking on the internet at Dawlish sites. May I make a suggestion that some of the people posting on here under what seems to be many names,have the balls to just use their own name and also take a look at other Town's forums and learn from them. They can be a source of very good information where people can discuss local issues in an adult way. It has kept me busy for the last hour reading some of the posts, but it is not a site I will be frequenting, and that is a shame as it could be so good.
Yes agree Lollipop Lady .. im sick and tired of the same old topic. I think posts by their content have to be by kids. I wish the Webmaster would do something, he must have got so fed up and never looks!

Having read some more posts I simply cannot believe the amount of posts to do with corrupt councillors, council, etc. Don't people get bored with it all? I am wondering if Anon has been refused a postion on the Council, been sacked or was married to someone on it as I feel that it is slightly strange to have such an obsession with them and bring them into so many topics. So changing the subject - How is the weather down there at the moment. I used to holiday in the area as a child and have many fond memories. I will have to pay the town and surrounding areas a visit at some time and see what has changed. I hear that the wooden huts in the warren have now gone. Such a shame as they gave it a bit of character.
Ah, it's just not the same. Good to see some photos of the places I used to visit. I used to eat in the Dawlish Grill many many years ago and that was always good and we used to stay in the Warren at Devondale. What are the beaches like now. They used to be lovely.
So, "lollipop lady" - is that what you were christened, or did you change your name by deed-poll? Talk about hypocrital (not my name either) if you think people should use their real names so much, why aren't you using yours?
Back onto the subject though... our councillors are letting us down. Don't believe me? Well just look at the start of this post. That was when someone was calling the councillors to account for not letting us know that a much needed youth centre, for local kids, is now to be turned into a construction training centre for the disaffected youth of the county. And it will still be built on a leisure and recreation area - so when you come for your holidays to Dawlish your children can attend the youth centre and mix with druggies, alcies and offenders. Now you don't have to worry about buying souvenirs, you'll be taking home bad habits by the bucket-load.
Sand at the Warren moved to Exmouth recent so not so good there. Dawlish beach ok, Dawlish is ok..just the flippin people as you see that hate everything about the place, yet stay!
This is a Council thread....start a Warren/Exmouth beach thread and stop whinging. You certainly won't stop Council debate. God bless the rain....

Wondering / lollipop lady unfortunately you have stumbled across a problem we are all having on here. If you say anything about the monotonous rantings about the council, you are then accused of being one of them.
As for Dawlish , it is still a wonderful town, with great people (and a nutter+some dodgy councillors haha ). please visit again you will be welcomed.
Sadly the Warren beach is a mess at the moment, but Dawlish's is getting better, as is the cove.
Chicken shed must be the right nutter the council has been looking for.
They require people with thick skins, a quick loss of memory when required and a pseudo that is connected with equity.
Councillors over the years have allowed Dawlish to degenerate, that is why they formed another club, "regeneration of Dawlish". When they realized that they had called it by the wrong name, it was quickly change to Dawlish Community Trust. So trust in me to tell you the truth and not those that tell you what to do.

I take umbridge to a couple of the replies. Firstly, My name is Lollipop, I married into this name and yes I know it is an unusual one, but it is one that I am stuck with. So I am not being a hypocrite. I am using my name, as it is my surname and I am a lady.....
Secondly, You know nothing about whether I have children or my personal circumstances.So in your post ranting on about the local councillors and my visit to Dawlish with my family, you presume I have children, when in fact I haven't and unfortunately cannot have any. I suggest you think before you post in future!!!
Anon - I suggest you take a look at yourself and grow up. I thought some of the posts against you were a bit harsh, but I am now beginning to understand why these people are posting them. You spoil this for people like myself who are trying to post on a Dawlish Forum.

I asked a perfectly acceptable question to which I received a perfectly acceptable and informative reply from wondeing and I cannot understand why you have to have a go at people who are doing this.

Then as explained before....DON'T read Council threads. Simple to understand. This is a democratic country. If you wish to impose censorship, then i suggest you move to China, where their government would find your stance fits their remit.
The way this forum is going with its language by some and attacks on people, i would not at all be surprised if a form of censorship will have to result here. If that does happens you have to decide who to blame.
