Looks like they got refused permission to change their holiday accommodation into residential accommodation as they've lodged an appeal.
Hopefully, they'll succeed with their appeal and we'll see this shabby rundown place turned into an attractive building.

I am told that when you order a meal in the Mount Pleasant Inn, you are asked what would you like with your chips?

Can i join in? You call it "contacts". I would call it corruption. The Protheroes have cultivated a position where they have been fooling people with fake altruism, while abusing those contacts, which they then use as a conduit to amassing money, property and land, which is all they care about. Would W.Protheroe serve on the council if there weren't any personal benefits? I doubt it very much.
About twenty years ago, "the Protheroe", came to Dawlish as a bankrupt, he served the mob in the TI, before moving to the MPI. If it is true, that he has amassed an empire in property, thus making him a millionaire. Is it not time to bring in the fraud squad?
I also applaud them. Generate alot of jobs locally, especially with suppliers. Good luck to them.
Just one bit of advice though.How about serving mash , instead of chips with everything.
would that be local suppliers who get screwed down to the bone on prices? most jobs at the mount peasant are minimum wage 'mac' jobs for the benefit of protheroe plc.....not local workers. its got more chips than a casino.....

What aload of tosh. Suppliers to a small pub dont get screwed down. As for the minimum wage, their serving tables and washing pots not doing brain surgery.
Also they would be on more than minimum wage due to tips.Perhaps you would prefer they were on the dole.
Ah tips! Very topical. Those tips should not be included as part of their salary. I wonder how much of the tips get siphoned off from the minimum wagers? They might not do brain surgery but without them you wouldn't get your pint! Just remember that as you look down on them....
