I suggest anyone who is as fed up as I am with certain peoples abusive posts should ignore them.
We can all argue a point with someone but when it becomes personal and abusive it puts a stop to decent adult debate.
It is a shame we haven't got a moderater, then these offensive posters could be barred.
I suggest you tombstone the trolls and lets get this forum back to how it used to be.

What abusive posts are you refering too?
Is it the ones YOU don't like, one's that are touching nerves, one's that are trying to tell other's something.
Unless you tell us, we shall never know the root of your complaint.

If you want to talk personal, i suggest you look towards the likes of chicken shed/joey deacon. Also, i am wondering whether the real purpose of your posting is to protect Dawlish councillors from condemnation?

Seeing as there is scant opportunity to question councillors about their actions and motives at council meetings or on their stagnant website (and not forgetting the local press, which seems to be bias to the council in the extreme), it is natural that other outlets will be sought.

Town counillors are there to represent us the residents and should be answerable to us. If councillors do not understand this then they should stand down. When they operate in a manner which is duplicitous, then questions will be asked.

When councillors abuse the trust they have been given, it is the duty of those with 'inside' information, to inform as many people as possible. Once this corrupt behaviour has been stamped out then there will be no need for such postings. In the meantime, questions and examples will be raised, invariably, leading to heated responses from those who wish to defend the indefensible.

The reason council and councillor issues permeate on many threads is due to the fact that they affect every aspect of our lives and our town.

Anon Roy or whatever you like to call yourself your vitriolic diatribe re the council is falling on deaf ears because it of it's over use
It seems to me you have a personal vendetta, which you should i.e.contact a National newspaper about or failing that our local MP.
Being agrassive will not endear you to people.

Don't Care

I appreciate what you are saying, but wish to clarify a few points. Firstly, i am not a malicious or aggressive person, just someone who believes in fair play and the truth. I hold no personal grudge....it only looks that way, as the
same 'usual suspects' are those who continue to mis-use their position of office and trust.

It is up to the residents of any town or city to keep an eye on the work and actions of their councillors, especially if you are not within the loop of the networking system. Our local MP is part of this loop, therefore any dialogue falls on deaf ears. As for national newspapers, they have bigger fish to fry.

Things change when a groundswell of people seek change. Thanks to the likes of Viaduct, many more people in Dawlish, like myself, are aware of how our council actually operates behind the scenes, and are beginning to question the duplicity. Surely that is a good thing.

Enjoy your Sunday Dont Care....it's a late breakfast for me then some fresh air.

Looks like a response from one of the 'disaffected'. Do we want our Dawlish youth turning out like this?

I really don't think there is any need for that Anon. When someone has to resort to using language like that, it usually means that they lack in intelligence. I think it is time that a few people on here grew up and started to use this forum for healthy debate rather than being so childish.....

The previous posting was nothing to with me....i suspect that councillor protecting dullard Joey Deacon.

But well said everyone....open debate every time! Perhaps Dawlish Town Council would like to try it? Would be refreshing to have openess and honesty from them for a change....

Nice one Anon! Chicken Shed calls it 'ripping', when we know it's aggravated responses to things he can't defend. The alcohol helps the old fart rattle through the threads.

May I please ask why posts seem to always revert back to the Dawlish Town Council?? I made a perfectly reasonable comment that had nothing to do with Town Councillors and yet the Council has been drawn into the thread. It does make for slightly boring reading at times. I am not a councillor and I don't always agree with some of the decisions made by them but please can we have some threads where the council are not brought into them.

Onlooker

There are many threads that do not involve Council matters or include Council content and remain so. When a thread includes aspects that pertain to Council issues then it is natural postings will be made on this.

Many of those posting moans about Dawlish Town Council permeating threads, do so in an attempt to stop the debate. In fact, they will try anything to defend an indefensible Council. But to no avail....as it is the duty of public journalism to expose wrong doings, especially when civic journalism does it's best to collude with the Council to hide those wrong doings.

So, if you are bored of Council content, by all means enjoy the other threads, but respect the democracy of expression and inclusion.

Unfortunately their are very few threads that do not end up with waffle about the council due to one sad nutter called Roy.
It would be so nice to have a council free thread but the nutter cant help himself.

He doth protest too much!

Start yourself many new threads!

Why complain with Council threads when you involve yourself in Council debate on them?

If you have no interest in Council matters why get yourself all het up?
