Strange people Devon people, think they have caught the Cornish bug. Oh to live somewhere where people dont pick at each other and be away from envy.
hmm's Posts
Sweet shop is very good. Standards have reached and all time low, re manners, respect and thought for people. How can that be turned round? Serve customers as they would like to be served. It comes to something when firms have to have school for 'customer service'. Example .. when you phone large firms, Banks, Utilities etc..the responses are written in front of them. I so hate the line at the end ...
Martin Money Saving Expert online will guide you re debt and best savings for free .. you really can work things out yourself!
Thank you. Emails were not in vain then. Tesco will think of a way.
There seems little appreciation for those who stood up for England 65 years ago. Would people in 2008 .. or would people just let anyone walk in? 'Grange Hill' on TV 1984, with their unruly teenagers in school, set a standard to follow. The teenagers of then are todays parents .. say no more! 'Eastenders' on TV today has much to answer for.
Asda is best of them all .. I know my prices! No fancy points cards for me thank you and high prices. People think Tesco is cheap, they are clever with marketing. You should look at the prices in Kingsteighton and Exminster Tesco Express. Still had no reply from Councillors in Dawlish. BBC Radio Devon are covering the story.
Who thinks that £32,000 is a poor wage as a lorry driver? I don't. If they get another £4,000 a year then food will go up etc. Is this a repeat of the Labour Government in the 1970's all over again!!! Fuel shortage seems to be affecting the West first.
It is sush a shame Dawlish people have to show their true colours in 'nasty and negative' comments.. Parent just simply wanted opinions, well I don't blame her in choosing Exeter based on the responses she was given. Have seen the same type of responses on eating out etc etc. Funny old place Dawlish... my house is going up for sale next week, though it's not for the place but for the people in it. ...
Sounds good.. i've not seen a poster or advert in town, can a poster go up like the fair do near the lawn. Nice to see somethimg different.
Should have added new 12a goes direct from Teignmouth to Paignton Zoo. May help someone.
.. so much waffle there. What then is the right sale price of a 2 bed house in Dawlish? At least I woke you all up!
I agree Olive. I have noticed the ladies do have standards on here.
What you say is so true. I wish people would not be so ready to 'knock people down' in anything, few will pick you up. My worry for Dawlish Blue is not the location, as people pass it for the pubs etc and is clearly seen from Queen Street..but the power of the sun on the pictures, they really need a pull out to shade them.
Yes Sussex prices are far higher than Devon, yet people do complain here of Devon house prices. I have visited Sussex and your area a number of times. Thnak you and hope all goes well for you.
As said before, the new store will be for a catchment area of about 8 miles. Dawlish people will still go to Exeter and Newton shop whatever, 'the grass greener on the other side', they certainly will not like it for some reason, though not built yet lol... this follows all shopping patterns everywhere.
I assume Sainsburys Dawlish will stock DVDs its time to get out of small retail.
.. get on with it then.. all talk and in dreamland? .. else you'd not be spending time here.
In the news today. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4435339.stm Strange nobody likes to spend in a small shop, yet seems perfectly acceptable for Tesco to have 2 billion profit. Go shop at Tesco you may halp make it 3 Billion next year 'Every little helps' lol.
Think Bob has a problem with evrything full stop. Should we arrange to put him safe in a care home?
Asda... no thrills, no points card...juzt good prices, but the veg will cost you more in any supermarket than at any amall veg shop, people don't know what they are paying in a supermarket, just pick up, take to the till, look at receipt, in the name of convenience. Best way is to buy online really as you dont get tempted in buying extra and if you count your shopping time you cam keep working!
Pity the swans did not turn on them, some can be really strong. I can imagine if they did people would want them removed. Leave the Swans alone Yobs .. they should take up Boxing, if bold enough!
Went to Exeter this morning £2 return on the train with a Devon card, just 14 minutes to St Thomas..great trip, cars in a traffic jam when I got there, guess they don't mind!
er 'born here' I work 12 hours a day and over all holidays. I assume the teenagers you refer to could learn 'something' with the help of the Library, years ago there were no computers, you've never had it so good .. 'there is life beyond a skateboard'. As I said before you clearly dislike Dawlish.. nothing positive, what about the new shop selling pictures next to the Gazette. See that does not ...
ok .. so what should a two bedroom house sell for in 2008 in Dawlish? .. give a price.
I've said, I prefer Asda.. people think Tesco are cheap for some reason, very clever adverts and marketing 'every little helps'.
found this for you Zig >>> Easter hasn’t come this early since 1913 and won’t come this early again until 2160. Because of the way the holiday’s date is calculated, it always falls between March 22 and April 25. So how is the date for Easter determined? It sounds like a straightforward question, but it’s a question that may have sparked a revolution in science, and touches on Christianity, ...
Yes Olive .. all these people who hate Dawlish so much should go, sounds simple sense to me.
Yes .. think Bob is an ill man. The Dawlish Theatre is always looking for people for drama etc .. so that may be worth a look. Lots of dancing in Exeter in the evenings at the Corn Exchange.. Jive, Latin, Ceroc Tuesdays freestyle is good fun and you can go alone.. detals on web.
Focus .. one day someone will call YOU old. It is the most certain thing. TODAY no respect.
.. bet you'd soon be back like the rest for free NHS.
I never buy a newspaper national or local. Its only gossip. By the time it's printed its not news. I have local news hourly on the radio, BBC 24 news instant online and Whats on TV mag is online for TV listings. I dont spend £5 a week on daily papers inc those weekend £1 junk papers ..rather pay my broadbamd charge. I use the free Dawlish paper for packing lol.
Differnce maybe that at Pocklington people use their local shops, but here locals don't on principal, this though goes for most small towns in Devon, I have no idea why. Yet people go to Newton Abbot shopping, maybe its I have a car must use it. I remmeber talking to someone in Plymouth who said they do all shopping in Exeter.. how crazy is that. I can only put all this down to the 'grass is ...
I think they enjoy jumping around the pathways and flowers at the Lawn.. i have a feeling they would still happen if the skate park was built.. so maybe money could be spent better.
So true. I wish those who dislike Dawlish would move away, only then will it be a far better place. Look on the forum, if someone does make a 'positive' point it does not take long before someone kills the positive. Negative thrives a negative mind.
Is strange .. but rest assured if anyone is brave to start a new shop locals will stand back and wait for it to go down, thank goodness for tourists. Of course the shop be expected to have collection boxes for various town fund raising.
