i have just seen that there is a clothing shop for sale in a prime dawlish location. i am planning on coming shortly to assess it. Does anyone have any opinions on the opening of an adult shop in Dawlish? I believe there is nothing like that in the town and believe that I can expand my business in this area and also create a few jobs for some of the locals. Views appreciated please.

this may indeed be a wind up. but unlike many towns we dont have an adult shop here. lots of charity shops, betting shops etc.

I wouldn't have thought there'd be much call for an 'adult shop' in a town full of geriatrics! Wouldn't be any good for their false hips :D

you are right phil, there are no shops that offer these kinds of products. i for one would have no objection to the opening of one of these. After all this is 2008 not 1888 as some prudes on here seem to be stuck in.

I think the shop concerned has now been let - and if it is the one I'm thinking about - very snazzy and aimed at the young it is too.

Leading the way for the rest of Dawlish to follow?

having made an initial viewing of the property, it was decided that it didn't meet our needs. Basically, size was the problem i.e. not enough space for having extra rooms. We may look again in the area but Teignmouth may be next on our list. Thanks for everyones comments - phil

I never contribute to this site because I live in Teignmouth. An adult shop here would be a good thing but you would have to have parking space for mobility cars and room for walking frames

What about a mobile adult shop then you could extend your service to the villages and where the post offices have closed could offer both services under one roof

Holcombe is full of swingers - you'll do good trade there - they love it.

a mobile adult shop could be a very profitable idea. it could have curtained partitions for a little discretion and maybe play a tune like the icecream vans so people know when its coming.

if you combine it with post office services you could send purchases, wrapped in brown paper of course, would save a lot of blushes. Nosey neighbours wouldnt see one walking up the path with the all telling parcel
