I have been looking at this forum for about 3
months this my first thread.
Where have all the people gone, it used to be
lively & humorous now it seems the contributions
have almost come to a stop?
Hi, I can sympathise with you. I dip in and out of a site called Virtual Southport. A few years ago there were at least 30 posters, many ex pats living all over the world, with some lively debates. Now there are just a few keeping the site alive. Apathy reigns!
My wife and I live in Chichester West Sussex and our intention is to move to the West Country, maybe Dawlish, early next year. To that end we are doing a reckie the weekend after next. If anyone picks up on this thread, we would be pleased to receive any feedback on living in Dawlish and its environs. Regards Phil
Lovely pretty place and close to Exeter, will let you make up your mind on the poeple from the forum! I am selling and want to move to West Sussex!
Why West Sussex? Property prices still high, and will probably remain so. However, like us, desire a change. Rightly so. Best of luck.
Regard,
Phil
Yes Sussex prices are far higher than Devon, yet people do complain here of Devon house prices. I have visited Sussex and your area a number of times. Thnak you and hope all goes well for you.
Thanks for that. Years ago I managed the Royal Lion hotel in Lyme Regis and I imagine that Dawlish may have the same close community as Lyme, though maybe smaller and less comercialised. Similarly I ran a place near Swanage, and didn't particularly like Swanage at all. Beauty lies in the beholder ehRegards
Phil
Hi Phil Dawlish is a great place low crime
good schools lots going on in the summer and most people are friendly.
Of course you get your moaners and groaners
as you do anywhere.
The reason folk complain about house prices is that wages round here are out of proportion to housing cost and utility bills are expensive.Dont let that put you off you will gain a good quality of life
Lets face it forums like this are for people to vex their feelings in the invisible world of cyber space. A lot of it is tongue
in cheek.
