@Philip Hi there. In a word, Yes, we do have a Town Crier. Havent seen him for a while though. He may be down by the bandstand tonight for the 'Big Switch On' of the Christmas lights.
Point taken, have kept the area surrounding fire free from polystyrene also walls & ceilings in these areas fire boarded, the straw we had thought we wouldn't be using it in close proximty to the fire. Nice to see you all like me that much you'd give me a sending off though :-(
Just been given one of these (more being given out at the Christmas Market on Sunday) and very impressed with it I am too. It will be especially useful for those visiting the town. Well done all concerned with its production.
why not leave the spam alone and become vegetarian or just look at Dawlish.com daily anyway
If the hedge in question is owned by an individual it may be part of an insurance claim and therefore they may be unable to do anything at present as the insurance companies are rather busy. Leatash = do you know how much council tax the local council get to keep ? local council £200ish Government the rest, Therefore council tax not spent on us, spent on MP's in London (oh and abroad)
I would have voted for her!
I agree Lynne, in the last 7 years it seems to me that every time Teignbridge asks for public opinion and gets it then ignores what the majority say.
Have done all my christmas shoping online in less than a hour all thats left is to go to Sainsburys to get some grub job done
Just a reminder
Sounds great and if it is anything like the first one, it will be (great).
Totally agree FredBassett. But again, a new road wouldn't be easy because it would have to damage Little Haldon (SSSI and all that).
My opinion is that the entire Police system needs a total overhaul from the top down. There are to many so called bosses and the poor people on the front line dont even seem to know the law or what their doing on a daily basis. Only the other week my boss was pulled in a lorry on the A30 by a so called highly trained traffic officer, it took 30 mins for the officer to confirm that what he had ...
Network Rail has announced that services to Plymouth and Cornwall resumed on Saturday after lines were reopened. This followed a landslip on the Teignmouth-Dawlish section on Thursday. Both tracks reopened at 5am today with a 20 mph speed restriction towards London and 50 mph from London. Up to 1,500 tonnes of soil, which fell onto track during the landslide, will have to be cleared by workmen ...

A POLICE community support officer has won a prestigious award. Debbie Sleeman, who patrols in Dawlish Warren, Starcross, Kenton and Mamhead, has received the commander's commendation from Supt Jim Nye at a ceremony at South Devon College. Her focus has been based on engaging with youngsters, concentrating on speeding and parking issues and going into local schools. See more...
Hi Huw, No worries about being honest....I prefer honesty :) The flat was listed as being only for 60+ or 55 with mobility needs (I'm in the latter catagory), so perhaps they've decided to go back to older people only. I doubt it could be any worse than where I'm living now: I currently live in a 'quiet' cul de sac and in the last five years there have been at least five drugs raid, an arson ...
A fresh landslip has closed the railway line linking Plymouth and Exeter at Teignmouth. The line, which was reopened on Wednesday after weekend flooding triggered a landslip, was closed again in the evening. About 1,000 tonnes of mud lying against a fence is also threatening the line. The main line from Exeter to the rest of the country has been reopened after flooding at Tiverton but there ...

Thank God the planning committee didnt fall for his little scheme with a 15 to 4 voting majority I dont see how he has grounds to appeal. The land isent even on the Dawlish plan for housing development and has been designated for employment use only. Its Round 2 to Dawlish in reality because his Black Country Properties scheme also failed planning years ago.
Rail services are being disrupted again due to a fresh landslip at Dawlish / Teignmouth covering both tracks. Bus services are running from Exeter to Newton Abbot. Pdf of various routes affected

The centre, better known as The Open DAW ,offers the opportunity for people to have free advice from a Scott Richards solicitor this Monday (11am-12noon) and you can talk with a town councillor and or policeman on Wednesday each week.
I like the camera work and narration.
Disruption now due to a landslide at Teignmouth, according to National Rail.
I'm sure they are Lynne. Their appeal will be in sharpish but Billson is on the back foot....
A woman cashier was subjected to a terrifying ordeal at 9.15 last night. She had to wait 15mins in the shop with a knife wielding robber for the time delay safe to open. This was in BetFred Dawlish. These betting companys are making their staff work on their own until late at night with no care for their safety. ALL IN THE NAME OF GREED
the price of water does vary a lot @wriggler but i am not sure you have your prices correct. 34p is very cheap for diesel. Typical fuel stations prices are more like (per 500ml): Coke - £1.20 Water - £1.00 Diesel - 71p Milk - 50p
I think the parapet has gone but the bridge is still there.
A WOMAN who smashed a wine glass into the face of a man who made unwanted advances to her in a pub has been ordered pay the victim £500 in compensation. (a) Bankers - only they don't wait for any special offers & (b) politicians - who charge it to the general public anyway. I'm sure there'll be other suggestions.
