We have been told the chip shop in Newton abbot is the best around (eat in as well) so we went over yesterday for lunch 9 of us arrived at 2.03pm only to find it had shut, all the staff were inside, they didn't want our business. Maybe we should have stayed here and walked down the warren. We will try the new one next week.

i think that sainsburys have done a great job for dawlish overall...the way it mingles into the green backdrop and scenery is perfect...you can see a lot of thought went into design and you would think it had been there years...the price match offer is excellent..and soon adds up as do nectar card points...but everyone must remember to use the town shops still...for both convinience...a friendly ...

A further £8.6m is to be spent on a beach management scheme for Dawlish Warren and Exmouth in a bid to reduce the flood risk to 2880 properties, plus protect the main national rail line. Nearly £3.75m would also be spent on a ...

It's actually for a friend of mine, I think she wants to do gifts / childrens clothing
Missed this episode, I have to admit I have enjoyed his travels through devon and was looking forward to this one. Will catch up with it on iPlayer hopefully. the closing credits for this series include footage of the steam train at the warren and past the coastguard cottages.
The US National Climate Data Centre is obviously feeling threatened by groundhog Phil because it has apparently published a formal rebuttal saying that groundhog forecasts have not been as accurate as claimed!! What they haven't done is compare Phil's six week forecast with their own.
Andy, I struggled to find it too, you're not being thick! Hover over the bottom of the message of the person you want to contact, where agree/report is and there is a message option too.

I would be Interested in hearing more !
Just out of interest did the site manager say who he was working for, only it dosent look like the transformer had anything to do with building industrial units but was an replacement/upgrade unit for Shutterton Ind Estate installed by Western Power.
regarding the spend spend spend comments on here, you are correct, if in hard times you pull back and stop spending the economy reduces, I believe we should continue to spend though on things such as research and development also supporting export businesses and new inventions, new technologies. On a personal level I believe in hard times like these I think people should really think about how ...
personally I would pay the bill but still question your charges. If you rainwater recycle then your sewage rate is reduced, if you reduce your water usage by flushing loo with rainwater your sewage will go down again. A toilet uses 7- 9 litres per flush average home 200 litres a day from toilet use @ £1.95 per cube = £3.90 a day water plus £2.35 sewage Rainwater electric use £3.12 per month water ...

Yes, very good Don.

This topic has gone strangely quiet

I wonder what course of action Tesco's may take (exeter race course)
I haven't seen the car park but I would have thought that £2000 could pay for a lot of cleaning up.
Yeah Ellie's Attic is great (it's on Shutterton Industrial Estate. Turn into the estate, then turn right by Dawlish Carpets. Ellie's Attic is on your left. They've just expanded into the premises next door so much stuff do they have).
