Any truth in the rumour that last nights entrants who made a visit to the Brunswick were disqualified, or is it just a rumour?

They were disqualified but dont think they were bothered, they were told before they left the Lawn that if they went there would be. But the winners Braking Wind achieved it without being disqualified laugh

My daughter and her friends were at the Brunnie last night. Daughter says The Brunnie was positively heaving with people and that pram race contestants were calling in there.

@Lynne.

Sorry, but I am not on Facebook. No disrespect to you or others that are, but I do not like their TOC's and totally against them.

@Brazilnut.

Thanks.

EoD is mocking Dave Farley with that photo.   I for one don't like it.  It's plain bullying, stick to the issue,

This came about because he had just announced that prams going to the "Brunny" would be disqualified so I think it was quite relevant to the issue on the night

mcjrpc but to be fair eod isnt mocking him and isnt that what the carnival company are doing to dawlish people

dave is a nice guy and has alot of knowledge of carnivals and no on is judging that but if him and this so called company can mock dawlish it townfolk and councilors then surely if you can give it then you can take it and tbh fair the incident with the eggs etc is and has alot more than carnival incidents surrounding it

@Brazilnut, hedgehog69

Sure, I just felt a bit sorry for the guy. I'm critical of what's gone on but I'm not his enemy and I feared it was getting whipped up into something personal.    If there's to be a worthy alternative to this committee it's got to behave with dignity.  Anyway, I'm sure no real harm was meant.

I know a few more things here, and what happened to Mr Farley and the cause of that picture was down to "Family" politics. So firstly it was going to happen and secondly it was done by people he "Should" know very well. What I do not and fail to understand is that the Raft Race, Pram Race and It's a Knockout has been about 50% The Event and 50% Water Bombs, Egg's and Flower. People going to watch know very well that what it is about and they stand a good chance of being hit as this is the way it's been for 20 odd years and is a part of Carnival Tradition. Yes it is uncontrollable, yes it does go into the crowd but it has always and will always.

however back on the subject, as @hedgehog69 has correctly stated, if the carnival are allowed to be so rude and give nasty coments to the likes of the council, town people and persons offering there help, then why can't dawlish have a bit of fun, and on eod not a single person has put a rude comment, all just harmless fun, which should be seen as a bit of carnival humour.

I understand it was actually Dave Farley's son who flowered him, or is that just hearsay?

Flour or flower?  There's a not so subtle difference!
