I may be mistaken but when the National Lottery first started one of their first
projects were to fund was a cycle path around the coast of England.
I am not a cyclist but thought it a good idea at the time was it my imagination
or has the lottery fund suffered a bout of convenient amnesia.
A new cycle path is being built from Exeter to Plymouth allongside the A38 plus 7 further cycle routes on Dartmoor at a cost i believe in excess of 7 million pounds. I also understand when the route alongside the A38 is complete cycles will be banned from the A38 and the riders will have to use the cycle way.
