Why not reduce the size of Parliament ie get rid of the Scottish Welsh and Irish M.P's and have an English government only. Bring back all the Army Navy and RAF bases to England so creating jobs and cancel all Defence contracts with these countries. Job Done.

Why does'nt Teignbridge just tell us how it is with their usual politeness BOG OFF!

There is an article on page 2 in this week's Dawlish Gazette about this. The article says that since January of this year the CAB (Citizen Advice Bureau) workers have been inundated with enquiries at the weekly sessions held at the Manor House. They are re-tiling the pool and upgrading the filtration along with other things.  I understand it is opening again Monday 9 September.  A number of the clubs are re-locating to the Lido during this period. Popped down to Duck Aller Farm today to buy some of their really tasty pork burgers and pork sausages (they do different flavours of pork sausage) and in passing I was told they had won first prize at this year's Devon County Show. It does look very nice & is doing the job it's supposed to. Wood is usually treated nowadays before it's sold so I'm assuming this is the case here. At least they got on with repairing it unlike Stonelands Bridge which is still missing a parapet on one side.

Weather is looking good for Saturday. Lets hope for a good turnout and show support for our veterans. They set of from the Manor at 11 and shoud be down the Strand about 1110. Come on Dawlish, show your support.

Dawlish carnival organisers are appealing for more sponsors to come forward to support the annual event. Last year the carnival still lost £8,000 despite cutting cost to try to reduce the losses. The committee's efforts to keep the carnival in the black are not helped by red tape. The Fire Service were called to reports of a road traffic collision.  Two appliances from Dawlish and Teighmouth were mobilised to this incident. @Carer As I thought I had implied in my posting - my comment about the Starcross RBL was an 'as we're on the subject of correct spelling, incorrect use of the apostrophe etc here is another example' type of comment. Two fire appliances from Dawlish and Teignmouth attended a building fire in Dawlish, a further appliance from Danes Castle was mobilised for the use of Compressed Air Foam (CAFS). If you do park and intend to use the shuttle bus service then leave plenty of time. I have waited ages for the bus and have come close to missing my check-in on internal flights.

DCC is doing a better job at living within its means than this (any) government does.

I agree that to charge £40 is a lot, but taxi drivers have to make a profit too. All too many of them are struggling to make a decent living.
