This coming Sunday, 14th July, we have a Medium from Plymouth who has not served this Church before. Her name is Julie Harper and it would be lovely if lots of people came along to welcome her as well as benefitting from the ambiance of the Church. The Service commences at 6.30 p.m. and is a light and happy affair with uplifting hymns, and also about half an hour of clairvoyance towards the ...
Tomorrow evening, Friday, 12th July, at 7.30 p.m. Don't miss Peter's expert Mediumship at Dawlish Christian Spiritualist Church in Albert Street, Dawlish. Tea, coffee and biscuits are included in the £2.50 entry fee. Please come in good time, it would be a shame to miss this opportunity of irrefutable evidence from the World of Spirit of life beyond life.
That will be a waste of time as people will still cross the road. Putting up signs does not work because we are a nanny state and peoples common sense has since long gone.
Just found this short film - http://vimeo.com/69325515 which is mostly filmed in Plymouth. If you own a video camera why not make a film based in or about Dawlish.
Never say never. The squeaky wheel gets the most oil as they say. I am pressing first re-investment in the "impact" part if the town.
Date: 09/07/2013 Time: 11:53 Location: Gatehouse Close, Dawlish Area: Western County: Devon One appliance from Dawlish was mobilised to reports fo an RTC at the above location. On arrival an RTC was discovered involving one car that had gone into the side of a house. All persons were free and clear of the vehicle. Crews made the vehicle safe. The Police and Ambulance also attended this incident. ...
Why not reduce the size of Parliament ie get rid of the Scottish Welsh and Irish M.P's and have an English government only. Bring back all the Army Navy and RAF bases to England so creating jobs and cancel all Defence contracts with these countries. Job Done.
This place is great . You have to go there . Give a go .

There was an interesting letter about housing need and housing development in the Dawlish Gazette a few weeks back. In case you missed it, here it is. "State funding not forthcoming for affordable housing Wednesday, 19 June 2013 Stephen Jope, of Elm Grove Road, Dawlish, writes: The key to providing adequate quantities of social housing is to provide adequate state funding for the purpose. ...
Why does'nt Teignbridge just tell us how it is with their usual politeness BOG OFF!
There is an article on page 2 in this week's Dawlish Gazette about this. The article says that since January of this year the CAB (Citizen Advice Bureau) workers have been inundated with enquiries at the weekly sessions held at the Manor House. The paper reports that "rising debt is considered to be a major problem in Dawlish" and that "Debt inquiries have continued to rise accounting for 68% of ...
Apparently it's scheduled to get two waterings a week for the next 6-8 weeks. I don't pass often enough to know if that's happening but if not call the Teignbridge Open Spaces number on 215851.
Hi thanks Lynne, yes we are doing cheeses. We are starting with around 20 cheeses 8 of which are from Devon or the South West. We will be developing this range when we get an idea of the taste buds of Dawlish. Come and see us on Saturday the 6th we have our expert on hand to give out tasters and talk cheese.
Residents and visitors to Dawlish are benefiting from a new footbridge built by a team of engineers, designers and surveyors from Teignbridge District Council. The new 10-metre timber bridge, which passes over Dawlish Water to link to Manor Gardens, replaces a dilapidated and unsafe bridge which was closed 12 months ago because rotting timbers and corroded steel beam supports meant it was too ...
Just sent an email to the company asking them to tell their driver not to do it , lets see what happens now.
They are re-tiling the pool and upgrading the filtration along with other things. I understand it is opening again Monday 9 September. A number of the clubs are re-locating to the Lido during this period. More information can be found on the DLC Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/DawlishLeisureCentre?ref=ts&fref=ts
Popped down to Duck Aller Farm today to buy some of their really tasty pork burgers and pork sausages (they do different flavours of pork sausage) and in passing I was told they had won first prize at this year's Devon County Show. I had no idea that they had done that and in case you didn't know either here's some info. http://www.duckallerfarm.co.uk/
It does look very nice & is doing the job it's supposed to. Wood is usually treated nowadays before it's sold so I'm assuming this is the case here. At least they got on with repairing it unlike Stonelands Bridge which is still missing a parapet on one side.
Weather is looking good for Saturday. Lets hope for a good turnout and show support for our veterans. They set of from the Manor at 11 and shoud be down the Strand about 1110. Come on Dawlish, show your support.
Dawlish carnival organisers are appealing for more sponsors to come forward to support the annual event. Last year the carnival still lost £8,000 despite cutting cost to try to reduce the losses. The committee's efforts to keep the carnival in the black are not helped by red tape. The disco where the carnival royalty are chosen and cost £300 to put on was cancelled also the loss-making Easter ...
Thats good news - NOT. hope the firemen washed it down well to get rid of the cobwebs in the takeaway.
Bench now fixed. Some snazzy new pieces of wood holding it together. Safe to sit on - lets have a party!
The Fire Service were called to reports of a road traffic collision. Two appliances from Dawlish and Teighmouth were mobilised to this incident. Upon arrival crews confirmed no persons trapped and made the vehicle safe. See more... http://www.dsfire.gov.uk/news/newsdesk/IncidentDetail.cfm?IncidentID=25151&siteCategoryId=3&T1ID=26&T2ID=35
@Carer As I thought I had implied in my posting - my comment about the Starcross RBL was an 'as we're on the subject of correct spelling, incorrect use of the apostrophe etc here is another example' type of comment. Off topic in terms of the Carnival I agree, but certainly on topic in terms of Duckileaks' comments about bad grammar etc. Might I make a suggestion? Should anyone want to respond to ...
Two fire appliances from Dawlish and Teignmouth attended a building fire in Dawlish, a further appliance from Danes Castle was mobilised for the use of Compressed Air Foam (CAFS). Crews on scene also requested an aerial platform attend to assist with fire fighting capabilities, this was mobilised from Taunton. Crews set to work using 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, a thermal imaging ...
If you do park and intend to use the shuttle bus service then leave plenty of time. I have waited ages for the bus and have come close to missing my check-in on internal flights.
In the youtube link, at 1:38, it's the members of Dawlish RBL passing. I hope that they had a great time.
So its probaby a 'waiting game' for the owners. If the building continues to deterioate then TDC will have another application for its demolition in a few years time .......In that case, what it the point of having conservation areas and listed buildings? no one seems to be interested, unless of course its a new housing development of boxes. Sorry folks, rant over!
DCC is doing a better job at living within its means than this (any) government does.
I agree that to charge £40 is a lot, but taxi drivers have to make a profit too. All too many of them are struggling to make a decent living. However, as FredBassett said, contact Dawlish Disability Transport. If you give them enough notice a vehicle and driver could be supplied for a lot less and the driver will wait for you to bring you home from the appointment as well. You will be given the ...
Have just noticed the revised plans submitted by Teign Housing, you can see the details on the Teignbridge website. That part of town is going to get even busier with traffic if planning is agreed.
According to an Ofsted report Gatehouse Primary School needs to make futher improvements to become a good school. Inspectors said there had been too little good teaching in the school and students had not made the progress they should and there had been a high staff turnover. A more recent visit by Ofsted said the senior leadership team has now been strengthened, teaching improved and pupils are ...
We have been waiting nearly two years for the bridge to be renewed after being closed for that length of time. Workers arrived about 10 days ago and built the foundations on either side, to await the bridge, yesterday the team arrived and found that plans drawn up by the architect were different for each stage, consequently the bridge builders had to dig up the foundations and relay them to fit ...
