Is this an indicator of what Dawlish can expect when the 'disaffected' start to accumulate in Dawlish's new Youth Drug/Alcoholic Centre? The housing crisis has come about for no other reason than greed, Whether by those who had a vested interest in the housing market, (Planners, surveyors, archi's, builder's, solicitors, estate agent's, etc, or those that thought that property was a good way to make money, (buy-to-let merchants)) although there will be plenty that will disagree with that. A young couple, with their nose to the ...
DevonSlope (In memory of and acknowledgement to Pastor Martin Niemöller) First they installed CCTV in Teignmouth, To deter vandals and to catch litter louts And people whose car tax was a day overdue. Dullish, I apologise if what I was saying was unclear. I am not trying to persuade anyone as to what they should do on these issues. People are able to make up their own minds and any questions I pose are for readers to answer to themselves, not to me. I am prompting Viaduct, yourself and others generally, to consider from a different perspective from that taken in some other posts: a)Let us say ...
The RAF's aerobatic team, The Red Arrows, have thrilled crowds almost weekly this month with their impressive manoeuvres. The group used Exeter International Airport as a daily base before flying to Salcombe, Dawlish, Fowey, Torbay, Dartmouth and Weston-super-Mare. The distinctive sound of the nine planes taking off and landing near the city is being heard for the last time this year when they ...

I have had this out with supporters of fairtrade in the past. None of their side of the arguments I had with them are sound. I once belonged to a cooperative that was supposed to benefit members of the cooperative - it did not. The people that benefitted the most, were those that did the organizing; in the case of fairtrade, it is people with a stiff white collar around their neck. I have ...
Dullish, If I never did anything because lots of other people were better at it, I would be immobilised. Don
Another quotation, this time from the founder of Yahoo??? Just the man who might have made a Modest Proposal to solve simultaneously the problems of corrupt politicians and high fuel prices by burning their bodies to light up the streets.

Crime has dramatically plunged in Teignbridge. Over the last three years, offences have dropped by a massive 20 per cent. In 2003-2004, 4,769 crimes were recorded, but in the past 12 months the figure was down to 3,728, smashing a government target. The Home Office gave Teignbridge a target to reduce crime by 15 per cent and the challenge was co-ordinated by a community safety team. In the last ...
sadly only a few! not many around this week all of the ones i have seen are really good though i think the wedding ones by ruby's mobiles and the straw wars snooky trust ones are really good.
Viaduct, Fortunate as I feel to live in this area and at this time, I do not have a cabinet as I do not drink. Were things otherwise, it might be very big and yet never have enough in it.
Was it laughing boy playing with his organ?
If he's so unhappy here, why doesn't laughing boy move elsewhere? Or, even better, emigrate to somewhere like Argentina?

Police arrested a naked man under the Mental Health Act after he climbed a tree in Dawlish and refused to come down for more than seven hours. The nighttime stand off began after a member of the public phoned police and reported seeing the man walking through the streets of the town at about 9.40pm on Tuesday. The man, 44 and from Exeter, ran from officers when they approached him and climbed a ...
Leonard Lamb must be turning in his grave.....
Defeatist response is recognised. The sum of your debate is accusing me of being a BNP supporter. What depth you have..... I would stick to conversation on alcohol....appears to be your forte.

23:00 - 26-August-2008 DEVON firms depending on last-minute summer custom found themselves wondering where exactly all the visitors had gone as they were left deserted during a cloudy bank holiday. Those joining the getaway to the South West for this year's last public holiday seemingly bypassed beaches, shops and some tourist attractions yesterday — leaving those who witnessed heavy traffic when ...
Dawlish Town climbed to the top of the Toolstation Premier League after a 3-1 Sandy Lane win over Ilfracombe Town. Teenage striker Joe Bushin, signed from Liverton United last season, bagged a brace which took his tally to six for the season. Antony Lynch put Town one up and, even after the Bluebirds levelled, it was the home side who continued to ask all the questions and it was no surprise when ...

I hope that everyone enjoyed the Bank Holiday as much as I did. A fabulous but hectic afternoon and evening on Saturday was followed by a more relaxing Sunday. We were unable to have a picnic, so we opted for a lovely lunch at a riverside country inn followed by a brisk walk along the river bank. Monday itself was a very long day - exhausting but very worthwhile. If you've never been to Lincoln, I ...

Sorry you are disappointed but that was a statement made in the broadcast which stuck in my mind, if I can find it for you I will post it.
Well done Tom Daley! Plymouth must be extremely proud. If only Dawlish could produce an athlete of his calibre? Highly unlikely, when Dawlish Town Council's emphasis on youth amounts to background deals with Teignbridge District Council to push through a Youth Centre that is more concerned with alcoholics and drug addicts, than the local youth it was intended for. Now we learn that this Youth ...
I have just had some feed back from a member of Dawlish Town Council. The Producers Market will be opening in October, the Town Council have been working on the idea since April.
The Olympic flag will be raised at Dawlish Warren this weekend, marking its official hand-over to Britain as part of the Beijing 2008 closing ceremony. The event is part of a series around the country and Teignbridge District Council chairman David Weekes will be raising the flag for the district amid an afternoon of sporting fun at the resort.
Why does Joey Deacon always struggle with charity transparency and openness questions?
That's my point, I am looking forward to seeing what has changed since my last visit. I beleive that there are now some new apartments at the end of Dawlish Front, changes at the Warren and lots of work at Teighmouth. It's always interesting to see change.
Control-Defence, my reply was to Dullish who for some reason thinks I am Joey Deacon. I feel that your course is value for money. Good Luck.
Well, I think you've had long enough to think up an answer Dullish Roy. So come along then, who would you replace Y-R with? That's a perfectly simple quesion, I fail to understand why you are avoiding it and why you'd rather throw around personal insults against a fellow member of our forum.
I ma surprised that nobody takes exception to Teignbridge council collecting money and issuing parking tickets when the area is not legally marked. I am not a lawyer but could that be called 'Taking money under false pretences' or some other legal phrase. Perhaps someone out there knows of one.
