We are a childless couple 4o's & 5o's, and we are staying in Dawlish over the Christmas break. Can anyone tell me if there are going to be any attractions or anything festive going on that we can tag along to and have some fun? Thanks.

Many Martial Arts can teach you how to “Kick and Punch”. But the Jim Wagner Reality Based Personal Protection System will show you more, by teaching you how to survive crimes such as Armed Robbery, Serious Assault, Gang Attacks, Abductions, Sexual Assault, Rape and more. Residents from Cockwood,Eastdon and parts of Dawlish Warren are set to lose the Go2 bus service. As from January 2009 Stagecoach buses will bypass Cockwood and head towards Dawlish on the A379. The buses will then travel into Dawlish Warren as far as the roundabout and then head back towards Dawlish. If the plans go ahead it will affect a lot of people, especially older residents. There are ...
OK you're probably correct, but that doesn't help me much. Myself and a few mates are hoping to go out for a few drinks one weekend and I'd like to know the most popular evening to do so.
The answers to your questions are: 1 I don't know what caused the disconnection. I know nothing. I changed nothing. 2 I eventually called in Blackboard Associates (free advert) and only after Ian Birdsey spoke to the call centre in Asia did they accept that the problem lay outside this house. 3 The service was restored within 24 hours
Two men from Dawlish age 27 and 25 have been arrested on suspicion of stealing a car. A dog handler followed a blue Vauxhall Corsa being driven erratically towards a car park in Newton Abbott at 3.40am yesterday. The passenger tried to walk away but the handler with help from his dog detained the two men until other units arrived. Both men were arrested.
I agree Don, but I am not sure how these sites are funded, if at all. In my ignorance I thought it had something to do with the ads that pop up when someone posts, if these dry up, will the ads and the income? Also if there are only a few posters, the replies to any subject become predicatable, maybe I am being too cynical, time will tell
A Dawlish resident thinks Tourists who feed seagulls should be fined. The resident said they had been swooped on when walking along The Brook and had also been 'verbally abused' when remonstrating with someone who was feeding the gulls. The problem seems to be mainly with visitors who do not realise that seagulls can be dangerous also a health hazard. The complainant has suggested that posters ...
SKATERS in Dawlish are celebrating after their long-awaited skate park was officially opened. Teenagers with a talent for boarding descended on the new facility when the ribbon was cut by town mayor Wally Protheroe. Dawlish Action for Youth, the charity behind the project, has said the opening was a huge milestone in what has been a long journey. The campaign for a skate park in Dawlish has been ...
February 7, 1855 was a cold night in Devon, England, cold enough for a heavy snowfall that kept many would-be travelers inside-- all except one, according to some reports. And that one may have been the Devil himself. Our story begins on the morning of February 8th, when the citizens of Devon awoke to find a set of strange tracks lying on the ground. The prints were u-shaped, as if made by a ...

As I am in a frivolous mood this morning, may I ask whether there is a club of pseudononymous negative posters that I could join, please? If so, would it present a problem that I use my real name, prefer constructive posts, do not like spurious claims and do not wish to wind up other posters?
45% of tickets for teh seminar have now gone. please email now to book your place and save disapointment.
Perhaps we can all take lessons in duplicity from certain Dawlish Town Councillors......they're experts at masking things. Or maybe this new website will bring with it a new openness and transparency?
Joey, I just missed out the word "evidence". But, as it happens, that is the sponsorship amount I had in mind. Your tag clue suggests that, like me, you are not going to hand out answers. The first of my two postings this lunchtime (at 12:42, I see)was a clue to info in the second (at 12:48) Don
And Mandelson what nice little earner he has just received and a Lordship, outrageous
FAMILY and friends filled Cornwood church yesterday to say a tearful goodbye to a "cheeky and loveable" young man who touched many lives. Ian Keenan, from Seaton Orchard in Sparkwell, and known to all as 'Smithy', was just 17 when he died in Derriford Hospital on September 22, four days after his motorbike collided with a tractor. Bob Fernival, one of Ian's teachers from Ratcliffe Special School ...
A bit of realism is needed here. A youth centre where alcohol was intened to be served would not get past the planning stage.
Hello, Is there any spaces left for the seminer? also can you just turn up on the day and pay then or is it bookings only, thankyou, Rory. p.s. my email is rory@rory42.orangehome.co.uk
No....but I can smell the stench of a Dawlish Town Council lackey...... As for right on cue.....shall we wait a while for the PR responses from Truth/Don Pearson? C'mon Deacon, shake a leg!
I'm glad that you agree that the email you copy and pasted is a lie. Apology accepted.
Sorry didnt get the chance to finish -- maybe STRONHOLD or another flea control could have avoided the problem for the child
One 4 Taxis are pleased to announce they are now into there 7th month of business. We wish to thank our customers new and old for there support and loyalty. We are now running 7 days a week, and on Friday and Saturday nights will be open after midnight if bookings are pre booked.
All of us either by birth or choice who live in Devon are so very fortunate. We have the sea at our doorstep which can be as calm as a millpond or as angry as a raging bull and fills our imagination as well as our soul We have Dartmoor, exquisit as any painting in a fashionable gallery, for free, from rugged to postcard picturesque We have the countryside with its rich tapestry never still always ...
When every thread becomes a rant to castigate the council, the concerns of the poster 're the council' become not only diluted but boring. Having one thread about the councils ills is all that is needed, then those who share the same concerns know where to go. Some of us do not appreciate all this 'mud slinging' and it is not what we come on here for. Perhaps there should be an insulting each other ...
Sea (Between Teignmouth and Dawlish falls the shadow.) The sea is always dangerous. Its currents stir my depths. Its eddies write runes in my sands. Close to it, I resonate. Closer still, I think. Drawn out from equanimity, Beneath its waves, I sink. I walked down to the sea today, Answering a summoning, to meet a past, A piece of herstory. She was late, perhaps delayed by entrancement. I watched ...

As far as I can find out DTC are the only council that do this, it is legal but I think it is morally wrong. You can get the minutes of meetings and agendas from the Town Hall and also the minutes from either the library or on line, Put into you browser Dawlish Town Council,on the left of the page click Town Council then scroll down to Minutes & Agendas click and there you are. Try any Town ...
I have noticed on many occasion especially with some writers to this forum, how they imagine what is happening, instead of expanding their brain cells and open them up to reality. I will give an example of how some tarnish the motorist as speeders, when in reality most are not. Dunchideock, a nice little village just below the Haldon Hill. People complained that the speed of traffic in and around ...
What's to expose? He's been found guilty and will be punished. And so he bloody well should be. Shirley his prosecution demonstrates that the "system" is not untouchable? Thanks for sharing the good news with us. :-)
Ethical.....now there's a word you wouldn't associate with Dawlish Town Councillors. If only some of them had the courage to own up to their malfeasance and fall on their professional swords, what a better place it would be.
Lib Dems who hold the majority on Dawlish Town Council are up to their tricks nationally. If I broke the law, I would get hammered - Lib dems get a warning. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7635799.stm
JD U SAY: " For everyone's benefit, including your own, can you try again but without the abuse please? Many thanks." I am not in the habit of repeating my self. A judge once said to a policeman who tried to charge a man who swore at him, " if you cannot accept abuse and bad language, then you have no right to be in the job, case dismissed". He only told him to flock off! and that is what you ...
Early this morning I noticed a water leak at the bottom of Ashley Way and thought what a waste of water. At about lunch time I was told it had turned into a major burst. People living in the vicinity were frantically trying to keep the water from flooding their homes. The residents were angry and told me they had phoned S.W water only to be told they would be out tomorrow(but later changed their ...
