I have just taken my dog for a walk and the strong smell of smoke led me to Weech Road. I was saddened to see Stonelands House well ablaze. When speaking to one of the fireman he told me there were 12 Fire Engines and 2 Hydraulics in attendance.

My sources tell me that Fortnum and Mason will be taking over the premises.

Firefighters are attending a blaze at Stonelands House, Weech Road this evening. 12 Fire Engines and 2 Hydrolics are at the scene. A Majority of the roof has been destroyed and the road has been closed while the fire is put under control.

The stores in Exeter's Guildhall Shopping Centre and Dawlish will close on Friday and the Exmouth store will be among the final batch to close on Monday. The closures mark the end of an era for British retailing, with Woolworths having been trading on the High Street for 99 years. Doesn't anyone use this site? Just been to Dawlish with my partner, had a great time. The sun was out, the crowds had gone and the people we spoke to made us very welcome. Two places I'd recommend to any visitor are the Terrace in Dawlish, great breakfast and staff and the Mount Pleasant in Dawlish Warren, I've never seen a pub so busy out of season. A Teignbridge village is being used as a drinking den by youngsters. Complaints have been made at a recent police surgery run by a community support officer at a Starcross charity shop. Apparently the youngster's have being downing alcohol around the planter outside Starcross Bowling Club and leaving a trail of rubbish and broken glass.

A 33-year-old mother of two from Dawlish was killed when her Honda car was in collision with a Ford Mondeo in Sannerville Way Exminster on Thursday. A Dawlish woman believed to be in her 70's was left badly shaken when she had her car stopped by two youths. One of the young men lay down in front of her car forcing the driver to stop.
