A TOTAL of 33 jobs in Brixham, Paignton and Dawlish have been saved by the sale of greengrocers Stokes. Argyle Trading Limited has bought the three stores, together with two others, from the troubled independent chain which went into administration last week. Argyle Trading is effectively a vehicle set up by another company, Premier Fruits, to buy the business. In January Premier Fruits added Torquay fruit and vegetable supplier Frank H Mann to its portfolio. The company says the three stores will continue to trade under the Stokes brand and all workers will be retained. Simon Harvey, managing director of Premier Fruits, said: "We are importers and wholesale distributors and the purchase of these five Stokes stores represents our first foray into the retailing of fruit.
