Court Told Diary Was Not Used In Drugs Operation

Exeter Crown Court were told a diary claimed to contain details of a major cocain trafficking ring. The accused Mathew Deny aged 46 was said to have used his Dawlish based furniture firm as a front for the £1.8 million drugs operation. Gerard Kirwan, Jason Payne and John Morton with Deny were also accused of a conspiracy to supply drugs.


The drugs were found at Ash Hill Road Torquay. Deny denied any involvement in the drugs operation when he was questioned by police.


The police had discovered £200,000 ofcocain and a 10 ton press at Ash Hill Road. Police also searched Denys Dawlish based furniture business on the Shutterton Industrial Estate. Deny said the 10 ton press was used to straighten wood.
