Well, PJD and User4549, we may be paranoid and behind the times but have you seen this BBC report about the Street View teams? Google admits wi-fi data collection blunder

Thilst it's clear that nothing malicious was intended and that nothing was done with the data, I have to say that was a silly error by Google. Hopefully, those members of the public who are stupid enough not to encrypt their wireless networks might now finally add encryption. It's not rocket surgery.

You are a tw*t and will not accept that every aspect of our lives are being invaded, if this is progress i would rather return to the past. I think you belong to the new brainwashed revolution of the last 20years unable to think for yourself anymore but believe everything that is told you, God help the future of this Country. Don thank you for the link, been out all day.

I'm not a twat. Interesting that you do not feel able to type the swear word... What people like you don't like is that people these days ARE able to think for themselves MUCH more than ever before. However if you want to go back to the 1920's or even the 1950's, then more fool you and your sepia-tinted friends. By the way, I'm sure it was Larry Page on the grassy knoll. Is your wireless network encrypted, PJD? Do you even know what that means, or is it just noise?

you can take the piss out of me if you like dm but i am not computer literate and do not want to be. computers are time wasters and take awayyour ability to think for yourself or pursue other interests. your view of invasive technology is warped, how on earth did we manage before. everytime we use adebit or credit card our movements are monitored where we were at what time what we purchased etc, receivers smaller than a grain of rice stitched into clothing by certain manufacturers, TVs with chips installed tomonitor what we do or say in our own homes I could go on and on, and you say we able to think more for ourselves these days, and by the way I was thinking more in terms of the 60s, and I will put swear wrds in full if you get a warped satisfaction of it, but I thinkof some on here who would not prefer to see it that way TO55ER

Bring in ID cards I say. I have NOTHING to hide, so why not have ID? Only those people who have something to hide seem to be the ones against it. Do you have a passport? A driving license? Well, what about all the info on them? Whats the difference between them and an ID card? Bring them on I say. Anything to make this country a lot more safer. Stuff the human rights to$$ers. They protect the terrorists.

Id have no problem if they brought in an i.d card. What i do have a problem with is paying for it.

I'm watching "Police, Camera, Action" on ITV4 right now. It's showing all the good work that CCTV does in crime prevention and crime detection. PJD, what have you, and the likes of you, got to hide?

The oracle(DM) has spoken again - all bow down - Just because somebody disagrees with the amount of CCTV does NOT mean they have something to hide. Try and keep things in perspective DM.

i have nothing to hide, dont posess a passport driving licence old type, what i do not like is that in todays world nothing is private, data collecting into everybodys aspect of living, nick clegg said today that these measures will stop the young growing up in a world where invasion into their liberty will become normal to them, that is what i think is wrong, thats why i said that people over the last decade have become brainwashed and desensitived

lol!!! DM would like us all to be become automons controlled by authority not able to think for ourselves. CCTV needs to be regulated as Clegg said and to be used in the proper manner. Yesterdays press showed an image of a man behind pensioner at cashpont in Teignmouth, said pensioner forgot to take his money, man behind is believed to have pocketed it, instead of chasingafter him and returning it, in certain places it is usful but not as an observation tool on law abiding citizensgoing about their daily lives

The Investigator

Will you still be supporting Clegg when they put up vat to 20%, which means that EVERYTHING will be going up? Still, you can drive to Tesco every week and moan about the price of fuel and how much everything has got so expensive. It will also mean that CRIME will increase, and who will be the first to moan about the lack of CCTV then?

Smokey

will not be complaining we have to be realistic times ahead are going to be tough, dont know how old you are but ive lived through it before, and no i do not drive to Tesco, shop daily in town. I have not said get rid of CCTV altogether only that it needs to be used where its necessary, not as a tool for monitoring all citizens movements, and dont use crime as an excuse CCTV does not deter. Didnt vote for Clegg voted for Cameron, but we have got what we have and it needs to be given a chance to work, we are a bankrupt state now thanks to Labour, the good times are gone for the moment, welcome to life as I know it

The Investigator

@PJD. What do you mean "I do not drive to Tesco"? You have said yourself many times that you drive out there weekly so your daughter can save a few pennies. Now, wouldnt you like to rephrase what you said?

Smokey

I don't know about you but this annoys me: Went to homemaker this afternoon, waiting to turn in, car coming other way stops and waves me across! As I was not expecting someone to do this (although it tends to happen from "well meaning motorists), it was a couple of seconds before I realised, meanwhile the driver is throwing his hands in the air! I couldn't help but stick my head out the window to inform him "What are you stopping on a main road to allow me to cross your path when your way is clear you idiot"?! lol example of someone not thinking it through.

Does you a favour and you slag him off....who's the idiot . Perhaps next time you'll prefer it if he doesnt stop and flicks you the V sign instead , that way it will give you something to moan about.
