There was some chaos at Dawlish Station today at 1310, and I was caught up in it. Returning back from a business trip, I started to make my way to the door waiting to alight at Dawlish, when the train driver forgot he had to stop there. He slammed on his brakes, and luckily he wasnt travelling too fast, as a few passengers got thrown about. The train (First Great Western 125) eventually stopped along the track with only the very last carriage still being in the station. So, as I was at the very front of the train, I had to drag my luggage & laptop to the last carriage to get off. I felt sorry for the elderly, and for those who had children and luggage who also had problems getting through the length of the train to alight. So, some excitement for a Friday. I will have to have a G&T now I am home. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

I knew you would be impressed. People will still be talking about it in years to come. So DM, what excitement did you have today? Shame you were not at the station. You could have carried my luggage. I would have given you 10p.

Not the first time a train driver has forgotten to stop at a local station, my lad was stranded at Torre a few weeks ago after the driver fogotten to stop there. How do big organisations like rail services keep getting away with things like this.
