Tesco's next to the s**t farm? How appropriate!
There will be no need to, best to close up.
Dawlish Taxis need some competition. £15.00 Dawlish to Starcross - rip off merhcants.
No one needs to put there name down as candidates. All that is required is for ten people to sign a letter calling for a bye election. Then the flood gates will open. We will then have a chance to see who will join the existing muppets, or should that be puppets?
A planning application for a new supermarket, petrol filling station and access roads has been lodged with Teignbridge District Council by supermarket firm Sainsbury. The development is proposed for land on the eastern side of Dawlish at Shutterton Bridge.Dawlish Town Council will be holding a special planning meeting at The Manor House, Old Town Street, Dawlish, on Thursday, May 1, starting at ...
There is less chance of the skaters being injured in a properly made skate setting than down town, where they go at the moment because of no facilities, where there are cars, elderly people and tourists to avoid. I thought you should be happy they have somewhere to go and are not 'under your feet'!!
When I emailed the town council re the disappearing swans and waterfowl they informed me that the swans were their responsibility but the rest were wild therefore not their responsibility? I erased their answering email, othterwise would send it back with a ? I shall email them again.
Agree there Frannie but a jokes thread would be fun this site doesnt have as many people on it as 6 months ago,This has been my first posting but have been looking for ages it seems to have less and less people making a contribution
I thought people would flock to the coop in their droves, after all they say they support fair trade. Maybe people of Dawlish think like I do and ignore all the spin about helping the poor producer.....the perpetrators of fair trade have probably got their own snout in the trough.
Saw some work taking place in the Manor this morning it looked like they are replacing the burnt items, great for the kids if I am right
Resident, Somebody surely witnessed it but could be concerned about revenge attacks, my point also is was it in CCTV range?
oh god, i just can't be arsed with these supermarket threads anymore.

DAREsay Following the rejection of the Teignbridge District Council Core Strategy, DARE has watched closely the scramble to develop land in Dawlish. Some residential developers have been awaiting the expected next stage of the process which would have identified available sites but in view of even longer delays now acknowledged in the planning process, plans are being submitted based on the 1996 ...
thanks, we've been along to a session, but it is very nursery like - not sure if we are going again.
Whinging and whining as you put it isnt abuse It would be a good idea to have different forums i.e discussion soap box and humour
This is not Dawlish related but if anyone has a mortgage with the Halifax and its almost finishing, don't pay their Exit fee charge of £175.00. They apparently abolished this fee last July but still try and claim this fee from you when your mortgage ends. Complain, refuse and write to them, but they will waive this charge if you complain enough. The deeds fee of £50.00 is also an issue but I ...
Never Mind - try looking at "Dawlish is Going Down Hill", "School" and "Dawlish" threads just for starters. It also seems that I am not the first to feel that Backyard threads are mostly negative. Alex made a similar posting to mine about three years ago. Suggest you check out my response on Freedom of Speech Thread.
See my response on the Freedom of Speech thread.

Dawlish Action Group DARE and Dawlish Warren Tourism Group (DWT) jointly hosted a presentation at the Mount Pleasant Inn on Friday, 14 March 2008, on the subject of Coastal Management, particularly in relation to Dawlish Warren itself. Representatives from these groups, including John Wilkinson, Chair of DARE and Simon Broom, Chair of DWT, have attended recent events involving Exe Estuary ...
Don't forget it's that time of year again! As from 1st April no dogs on the beach at Dawlish Warren. Dog's are allowed on Dawlish beach from the viaduct towards the Warren within 150yards approaching red rock.
Hello Julie and Andy. I quite agree on your comments. I am getting to know Bryan and Pam plus there super driver John Evans very well. If I am half as successful as them, I will be a very happy lady. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bryan, Pam and john, plus Peter and Mary owners of Alans Taxis plus Val owner of Arrow Cars for there huge support in my new venture. Many thanks to you ...

There are at least two new towns planned for Devon. Sherford which is planned to be just outside Plymouth in South Hams and Cranbrook due to be built east of Exeter.
The South West will in 2009-10 pay double the national average water rates. Keeps the share holders happy
Had email from highway Department. Apparently the path from Hatcher St to Luscombe Ter. is not shown as a prow on definitive map however it does have a claim to be recorded on the definitive map. Not sure what that means will phone Mr Martyn up on Monday
yes maybe the shops will although some chains do pay more than the standard plus perks. What it may do if we move upmarket is influence offices etc to move here instead of outskirts of Exeter if there were sufficient modern office accommodation say at Shutterton for them. All jobs are not in shops!
The pub that used to be smokey Joes is up for sale as is Salami's and the pizza takeaway
We had no threat of terror since trouble in Ireland untill with Bush this country invaded Iraq where as Old Gent stated more people have died since Sadam and now that the extremist are gaining ground people have less rights. I say fetch our lads and lasses home they should respected for what they do because they have no choice in the matter and those who have died have done so needlessly
Think aliens took them? Or maybe the man behind the grassy knoll? Or, (now I know this is really far fetched, so bear with me) maybe they do what nature tells them and migrated to warmer climes or found somewhere more to their liking. I have quite often witnessed swans and ducks in the sea. NOT EVERYTHING IS A CONSPIRCY THEORY!
Probably ex Dawlish Community Students going to Exeter College so would be the equivalent of years 12 & 13. (that's the Vith form in new speak)
