I am aware that the holiday parks still have some on offer but if anyone knows of a privately owned caravan on one of the parks ( preferably Dawlish Sands) please drop me a mail asap as I would prefer to line the pockets of one person than a corporate body if you ...

A householder has been fined £50 for fly-tipping after putting rubbish out for collection at the bottom of the drive. And when he rang Teignbridge council to protest, he was told they could only consider appeals in writing. Mr Kenyon has been looking after his elderly mother's ...
Dawlish United under-12s (pictured) successfully defended their title at a tournament at Newton St Cyres. After winning their group, Dawlish turned in their most impressive performance of the day as they beat Crediton A 7-0 in the quarter-finals. The Dawlish B team also qualified for the quarter-finals but went down to Crediton B on a golden goal.

THE completion of the eastern side of the Exe estuary cycle way moved a step closer this week after Devon County Council formally approved the plans for the £2.2 million Exmouth to Lympstone stretch of the route. But the council refused to back the proposed £2 million section between Lympstone to Exton amid concerns from residents. This part has been referred back to the council's planners and is ...
I used to visit Warren Holiday Centre every year for about 5 years in the 1980's. Wondered if anybody has anything related to the park back then? The evening entertainment used to include 'Pip Critten' and 'Soppo the Clown'. I can remember it used to have a yellow emblem if that helps! Thank you
Does anyone know of a connection between Dawlish and India at the time of the Raj? I was in Dawlish churchyard yesterday looking for the grave of Isabella Lighton, died in Dawlish in 1840. She was the widow of James Lighton, Major in the Bombay Horse Artillery. Ddn't find a headstone, but I noticed two other graves of people connected with the Indian Army, one very grand in the name of Sage, with ...

In Vienna, they are testing the dog poo for DNA, which they compare to a database. If you let your pooch be registered in the database, you are exempted from pooch tax.
I would agree. I spent much more than five minutes on it. I lived in Dawlish and Teignmouth for the first 20 years of my life. For the first 13 of those, I lived above the Fountain Cafe. It's tremendous to be able to show colleagues in The Hague, where I now live, where I was brought up. It's a shame about this forum though - It needs some strong moderation
The South West's main rail line will not be re-routed in the immediate future despite concerns over sea wall defences, the rail minister has said. Derek Twigg was responding to a Commons debate on Tuesday about the long-term viability of the line at Dawlish, which is just a few feet from the sea. Sea defences were not due to fail in the "foreseeable future", he said. Fears about global warming ...

I am a single professional woman needing a house with garage and off-roading parking in the Dawlish area. I am a non-smoker and have no children but do need to house my two very clean dogs. Please don't let that put you off - I am currently renting in Dawlish and have impeccable references for both myself and the dogs. Terms and rent are open to discussion. I hope someone can help.
I was in Shanghai last week and went on the maglev train a couple of times.. You really should get one in Dawlish instead of that atmospheric railway thing. It travels at 420 kilometres an hour, just think how quickly you could get to Newton Abbot.
Paul Many thanks for the kind offer. I'll bear it in mind for the future! Take care - Pete
I am relocating to Devon for work at the beginning of August and am currently seeking a 2 bedroom house to let in Dawlish. I would like a house that is near the train station and has a parking space. If anyone has any info on any available properties, please contact me. Thanks
Thank you for replying. Unfortunately it is a bit difficult to get there at the moment as I am in Sunny Queensland in Australia. Maybe one day I would love to visit Dawlish! Is there anyone who could take a photo of the White Hart Pub and its cottages or could someone give me their address so I could write to them. Dianne
