I'm picking up vibes that one, if not both, of the two supermarkets wanting to have a store in Dawlish are looking to find reasons why they should not attend the meeting called by our MP.
Anyone else heard anything along these lines?
Not heard anything but I reckon they will chicken out. After all, Tesco's KNOW they deserve an egging after they way they treated people. Sainsburys - well who knows? Perhaps they will wait until their consultation is over. See what sort of feedback they get from that.
Sainsburys seems a nicer store .. so no tears from me if Tesco do'nt bother to set up shop. Think Tesco's attention has now moved to elsewhere in Devon.
I'd like to say "Good" to the comment that Tesco's attention has moved to elsewhere in Devon but that's a bit unfair on those who are now on the receiving end of it!
Tesco's PR in Dawlish was a disaster from beginning to end.
Tesco or A.N.Other will not come just to please the residents of Dawlish. Their main aim is to empty your pockets, After all how many people get sucked into buying one and throwing one in the bin sydrome?
Some people will buy it whether they want it or not. There is an old saying in the retail industry, "eye level, buy level". Tesco will not worry about how much misery they cause through increased traffic (congestion) or anything else that will cause you a heartache. As long as you spend, they will be there till the ean.
