Hands up all those who know that Devon Local Authority Schools are towards the bottom of the league when it comes to how much they are awarded per student by central government?

You didn't know that? Well you do now!

Our local authority schools are funded at more than £300 per student less than the national average. If Devon schools received just the national average funding (not the highest please note) then imagine how much more money per school there would be. For Dawlish Community College this would work out to be an extra £250,000 per year.

Want to do something to try and change this unfair system? Good. Write to our local MP and he can then forward your letter/e-mail to the Schools' Minister. The more people who make a fuss and make their voices heard the more the government will listen. If you do nothing, then that is exactly what will happen - NOTHING.

Here is how to contact our MP, Richard Younger-Ross.

Constituency Office: 24-26 Queen Street, Newton Abbot. TQ12 2EF Tel: 01626 202626

Thank you.
