Whilst I am not in principle necessarily against the building of a skate park/bmx track at Sandy Lane, I do object quite strongly that in order for this to happen all the trees on that side of the avenue of trees are to be felled. Why? Was there no way that their continued existence could be accommodated in the plans for the new Youth/Community Centre and Skate Park/BMX Track?

Not only will their removal be aesthetically damaging but there will be an environmental cost as well. Trees after all help the earth breath. We need more trees not less!

Please can someone responsible for this planned folly explain the reasoning behind it.

Is there anyone out there? Seems like a good question to me. WHY are these trees to be felled? Come-on planners - tell us! Don't hide away (mind you, at the rate trees are disappearing, soon there won't be anywhere for you to hide!)

You don't think they're being felled to make more room for Tesco's proposed car-park. Have Tesco's done a deal with the Youth Centre?? Anyone know?

This proposal to fell the trees is absolutely abhorent. It is the thin edge of the wedge. What next? The sports pavilion to be pulled down? Not stealth tax but stealth axe!

Protest!!
