I would also like to add, that there in nothing more annoying than people who move into the area and start wanting to change things. There is nothing wrong with the sea wall. It was like that BEFORE you moved here. And no, Im not being horrid, just practical. I hope that you are enjoying living here.

If Dawlish did not have the sea and the holiday trade, The Strand would have little business, it certainly would not survive on local trade alone... Dawlish looks so sad in winter. As I have said before locals will not use the out of town Supermarket as it is a general shopping policy, it will be mainly used by those on holiday or from a wider catchment. Many posted here that they would not go to ...
This my friend, is one of the many things that I, the Investigator, will be putting on my website. No matter how trivial things are, then let me know. This needs to be addressed. I need to gather more information and get some photos uploaded to my website, then I, the Investigator, will show how things do NOT get done in this once wonderful town. Look at my replies to the other top 6, 7, or 8 ...
Whats the point ?? If you believe that, then you must believe in Santa Claus and fairies. What has happened to the Millennium Bandstand?? Remember that?? It is now coming up to 2010, and STILL no bandstand. The current one is an eyesore and an embarrassment to the town. The Investigator will expose all what has happened to Dawlish and what will be happening to the town on his website. The only way ...
The Swan Inn now does excellent food. Far superior than all the rubbish you get in town. As for the Lansdown, who in their right mind would want to eat there? Same as a lot of other places in town. All they serve up is cheap tacky food for cheap tacky chavs, who's only insight to foreign food is a Chinese on a Friday, Kebab or Pizza on a Saturday, and the most exciting of all, a Macdonalds when ...
I think that more to the point, It will be lining someones pocket with a lot of £££'s. The Investigator is on the case.
The Investigator is here, and needs CONCRETE evidence to display all the wrongdoings that this council has done on his website. Why has Tesco miraculously got another chance? It was no surprise, was it.
A very happy Christmas to all. Please spend a moment to think about all our Troops in Afghanistan and their family's. Also all the many Homeless people in these very cold days and nights.
I Am an Gresley FC fan , And shall be coming to the match and we will be bringing over 150 fans and hopefully it shall be a good match , so goodluck
all the utilities are doing necessary works old pipes and sewers being replaced
If Tesco had opted for Lady's Mile in the first place instead of trying to concrete over the playing fields they might have been more successful and not put people's backs up. It all smacks of sour grapes to me. In the meantime the people of Dawlish are missing out and have to drive a few miles to visit a supermarket. Surely not very eco-friendly?
That always infuriates me too LOL! It's not just taxi drivers though - far from it in fact. It's usually the older generation (you know the sort, the ones who wear leather gloves whilst driving LOL) who lack road manners.
Soooooooo, the Seasiders are through to the 4th Round of the FA Vase for the first time since 1990/91, after a thrilling 3-1 win over Brockenhurst, after extra time. The draw for the last 32 of the competition is later today, so bring anyone on! Well done Dawlish - I only hope that we can repel the advances of Dorchester Town for our crown Jules!

how can you say im pig ignorant when all ive done is voiced an opinionfrom my experience of visiting the place, the few times ive been in there the beer has not been of the best.
A new casino and an arts cafe could form part of the multi-million pound regeneration plans for the 'dying' town of Dawlish. The blueprint, which will be unveiled next week, includes 36 proposals to regenerate Dawlish and the Warren over the next five to 10 years. Proposals include a casino, a new enclosed pavilion with an arts cafe, a high-class restaurant overlooking the railway at Tuck Plot ...
I also thought Video Shop is a more common name for Video and DVD sales but maybe its time to think about calling it a DVD Shop or a Media Shop either way. I also agree with the popcorn sales and the pic&mix and maybe a slush puppy machine as it is near enough impossible to get one in Dawlish :)
Many Sincere Appologies but The Snooky Trust Shop Will Be Closed Untill Wednesday 28th October We desperatley need to catch up on our recycling and look forward to seeing you all again on Wednesday if you need to get in touch with me my mobile number is 07760753220 or shop number 01626 866879 thankyou x
Thanks to Don & Ziggy for their comments. My original posting should have gone under Holidays as previous. The dog situation I am sure is common elsewhere, not just Dawlish. It was really just an observation. I'm not sure why the cat comment came from Sid? I never said I saw any cats on the beach. My wife & I are outsiders, but have been visiting Dawlish for years now, often 2 or 3 times a year. ...
How ironic that in this weeks Dawlish Gazette, " A Dawlish taxi proprietor has raised safety concerns about vehicles in Teignbridge" " John Partridge who runs Dawlish Taxis, said it had forced some taxi drivers into a position where they left advisory forthcoming repairs until the last minute". Hasn't that been the case concerning most of his vehicles anyway, sometimes being lucky to have any work ...
need people in the middle not too old and not to young, the young you refer to have not lived long enoughlol
Does anyone know if there's a Christmas Panto taking place in Dawlish this year? I'm not a fan of those panto's that have z-list celebrities in them, and much prefer the traditional panto's that are put on by local theatre/rep companies.
Everyone associated with the town of Dawlish should say a big THANK YOU to John William Matthews, who bequested in his will the princely sum of £8,555 to go towards the project to refurbish the waterfowl enclosure and aviary. Thanks also to the two local councils for putting their money where their mouth is.
WORK is about to start at the waterfowl enclosure and aviary in Dawlish to protect the breeding ground of the town's famous black swan. It is hoped the £47,000 project at the Brunswick Place site will start next month. The cost of the eight-week project has been supplemented by a capital expenditure grant of £2,000 from Teignbridge Council and a bequest of £8,555 from local resident John ...
OK so this was a hard one, it's always easier to be critical than constructive... I believe tourists and locals alike are tired of the old fairy lights and funny hats seaside towns. So, scrap the random strings of coloured lights along the brook, and seafront. Then hire a scenic lighting company to design a display on the lawn and seafront that really wows. This would draw people to a unique ...
A NEW 10-year action plan to conserve a popular Dawlish tourism and wildlife spot has been revealed. The scheme, which will come into effect next year and shape the future of Dawlish Warren, goes on public display this month. The Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve Management Plan 2010–2020 outlines the vision for the future of the area, including measures to maintain, protect and enhance ...
fair comment webmaster, and very appropriately named now
Welcome back, FEL-699, I always worry when people call me Donald. They are usually telling me off. Two exceptions: My parents always call me Donald (wait a minute - they are always telling me off) My own conversations between Donald and Don (but I never listen, so I don't know what they are about or which I am) Don
If I am wrong at any time I admit it, you should try it sometime but doubt you will with your arrogant attitude.
if you are the vce of real reason come up with something constructive rather than shouting insulting comments
The Snooky Trust charity shop has 100's of rail magazines if anyone is interested
A major housing scheme on land west of Secmaton Lane, Dawlish, should go ahead according to Teignbridge planning officers. Cavanna Homes and Bovis Homes are offering to make, at best 20 per cent of the 270 properties available for rent or sale at below market cost. If goverment grants cannot be secured that figure could fall to just seven per cent. There will be a meeting to discuss planning ...
Charley I am so sorry I didnt get the chance to pop in and see you yesterday. Thankfully I have found a lovely lady who lives in dawlish and runs her own cleaning company. Thankyou so much for your help x hope you have a lovely weekend xxx ~hugs~
hello there please could you get in touch with caz @ the snooky trust charity 01626 866879 many thanks
Who rattled Sid's cage!!! I think a lot of locals do abuse the no dogs on parts of the beach from April to September. I myself have a dog and abide by the rules but have seen locals abuse the system but have not approached the owners because!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think L&C were moaning (at least not as much as you!) just putting their point across. They didn't say they were frequent customers of ...
oooo What positives are there.... A mayor and some people who want to get rid of the swans and turn the lawn onto a car park. And to stop the waste that the Ducks in the pen produce, Seagulls pidgeons I don't suppose they crap in the town... I wonder do they go out to sea to do theirs? Good sea gulls... Oh yes that's positive,,, doh!
