Seems the auction house that had sprung up at The Sunburnt Arms in the Warren has now relocated to The Old Brewery, High Street, Dawlish.

(See the advert bottom right hand side of the front page in this week's Gazette).

@wriggler - yes i thought the same thing. and the lorries delivering the items for auction, where will they park? presumably outside or near the building. traffic congestion problems? are there any parking restrictions in that part of high street?

Here we go again. A new venture in town trying to make a good use of an empty and unused town centre building and what do you lot do. Start moaning and groaning about Lorries, Parking and traffic congestion. Just what the hell do you want for this town ? If you want total hassel free peace and quiet whilst you wait for God, why not buy a bed up Barton hospital and die in it.

What a charmer! Just looked back at some of MugOnHead's previous posts on here slagging off new business EmeraldDecor amongst others. I wonder what his connection is to the people that are auctioning off the tat? Are you Steptoe or are you Son?

Whilst I appreciate the point about empty properties being put to use that doesn't detract from the other point made that the type of business in question may well cause a traffic problem.

Whether it does or whether it doesn't we'll all soon find out.

I wonder what the owners of that sometimes open sometimes closed second hand shop found out at the garage (that's the garage almost opposite the industrial estate out at Shutterton) think of this competition to their line of business?

And does anyone know, just out interest, why the Suburnt Arms is no longer being used for the auctions?

More importantly will they be selling beer at The Old Brewery?

I think you may be right the old petrol station and auction house seem to be one and the same lets just see how things go and wish both ventures the best of luck for the new year and for gods sake stop moaning

Who's moaning? Making a comment about a new business and its possible impact isn't necessarily moaning. It's making an observation.

When is the next auction taking place?

If you look at the pile of crap that is left from the last auction at The Arms , you'll realise its just a dumping ground instead of going to the tip.
