A Dawlish man and two boys from Teignmouth age 16 and 17 have appeared in court accused of 'physically and mentally' torturing a cat. It is alleged the one-year-old cat was put in a microwave oven, tumble dryer and freezer. The case was adjourned until October 8th. The cat is being cared for by the RSPCA.

I have just received confirmation from DCC that anybody who received a parking ticket at these locations in 2008 can apply for a full refund. The reason - they did not have a TRO (traffic order) in place, since 2009 they have a TRO. "In line with the Cabinet decision of July 2009, where possible, TDC will identify who the PCN was paid by and refund the full penalty charge paid".
Thank you all, i used to love going the Sunday car boot, but i havent been to Dawlish in a few years!
Good to see the Cove crew are at it again lol.
Had I been running one of the fair rides .. I would have put a sign up '£1 a go' and got some bums on seats as the power is running regardless..deserted does not look good. Who decides the Fair should come to Dawlish ..is it a in concrete thing and who wants it?..clearly locals and visitors dont.
Can I just say that I agree with Martin that us socially and financially disadvantaged types should be free to go about our business whenever we want without interference from big brother or big sister. Anyone know what all the noise outside No.2 Barton Villas was last night. I didn't get a blooming wink. I'm off to the Pirates Chest for some peace and quiet with my friends. I hope to see some ...
Does anyone else know what all the noise is tonight outside No.2 Barton Villas? An infernal blooming racket it is, I can't get to sleep.
If you havent already, is it worth giving a call to Councils in the Devon area?
Well said Ziggy. Congrats to all concerned and thank you.
zero tolerance on littering and fines; works a treat. More bins and more unemployed sweeping the streets.
Loss of 100 odd car parking spaces on Strand is the prolem if you close it off. We're short of parking already. Yes, build a LARGE multi story on railway carpark (get Sainsbury to pay. Where would loading bays go for the constant deliveries that occur every day? -Make pavement 3x as wide -Parking on lawn side only+ at an angle -Get rid of one set of traffic lights - at bu stop -Make parking on ...

You what....the Bishop of Dawlish and Starcross has been busted for class A. WOW this makes the men of cloth worth a visit on a Sunday....I've never met a real dealer!!
Over 100 revellers attended an all-night party last Saturday at Easton Plantation off Orchard Lane Dawlish. Police were called to break up the party after complaints of noise that could be heard by people living in Dawlish Warren and Starcross. Police returned yesterday and found 13 men linked to the party still there. They were detained under a section of the misused Drugs act and searched. A ...

He doesnt realise he is going to get old one day.. that is IF todays youngens last that long..cant imagine what sort of old bids they will be with their attitudes.
Dawlish Coaches go into liquidation with a loss of 37 jobs. Paignton-based Majestic Tours have transferred all bookings with Dawlish Coaches to other firms. The directors "reluctantly decided that they had no alternative but to put the company into voluntory liquidation"
Well this year i am intending to try some of the local ales, so any recommendations would be welcome lol Thanks for all your replies, it seems the best of Dawlish is still there, so im happy!
Many Brits are shunning holidays abroad this summer and choosing to stay at ' home ' because of tour operator problems, flight upsets and the Eur ozone's dept crisis. The Dawlish Warren Tourism Group is predicting ' a great month for the area ' Events like the airshow, fireworks and the carnival add help to the value to the " Tourism Pound "
Thanks for that. We had better make the most of this years show then. I hope that I will be awake to see it. Dont get back from Frankfurt till near midnight on Wednesday.
The original message is just a form of SPAM for the website in his "signature" at the bottom of the message. Ignore him and don't click on the link would be my advice.
When I read that the street lights were to be switched off at night I thought it was to conserve energy !! No - now they are on during the day instead !! Whats going on ??
I was just saying IF they decided to closedown people would soon kick up and moan because people may favour Teignmouth for some penny machines, all seasides have them.
"Speaking on behalf of developers Barratt Homes, Gareth Kendall said: "We are committed to providing a scheme which we feel fits the local area and the community and will provide much-needed housing."" Should that not read "We are committed to providing a scheme which makes as much money as possible for our company"? These big companies all give the same impression that they do these things for ...
1 The new centre is being equipped and got ready for September use. 2 The centre will be 'opened' officially on September 10th 3 The building will be open to the Public on September 11th, Saturday, when you can satisfy your curiosity, use your imagination and suggest how you'd like to see it contribute to life in Dawlish. I think eyes will boggle and faces outside the town will turn green with ...
I've only ever had one pint at Lee's Bar and to be fair it was decent enough, however it's not really my kind of pub. I agree with JW that the Welcome Inn has come on leaps and bounds in the last 12 months, though I still prefer a stroll to Cockwood if we go out for a drink. Or over to Turf Lock or Topsham if Mrs Dawlish Man is driving!! :)
Not the first time a train driver has forgotten to stop at a local station, my lad was stranded at Torre a few weeks ago after the driver fogotten to stop there. How do big organisations like rail services keep getting away with things like this.
According to their (brainwave) website, they are moving to Richmond Place, and Stewarts is the only property for them there, unless I am mistaken

I came here 20years ago on holliday and stayed its a great place enjoy your stay and i hope you will return year after year
A group of local youths around five or six in number have been using the sand dunes at Dawlish Warren as drinking dens and vandalising the area by ripping up wooden fencing installed to protect the local nature reserve and using it to fuel their fires. Visitors including children have had their feet cut by broken glass bottles or burnt by fires which have not been extinguished properly. Text ...
You may not be on his distribution list for progress reports, DM. An oversight presumably.
An application for 61 homes is to be considered by the authority's development control committee at a meeting next Monday. Barratt Homes want to build up to 61 " Beach Hut "-inspired contemporary new homes. The land earmarked for the new development is just off Dawlish Warren Road and Shutterton Lane. Out of the 61 homes 43 two, three, four and five-bed, will be in the "market housing" ...
The ostrich meat been sold as LOCAL from Poole in Dorset, by the butcher in the strand Dawlish is NOT LOCAL. It's inported from South Africa by a meat wholesaler (DB Foods)in Poole.
I agree with you. (please guys, don't accuse me of being DM) Threads do evolve naturally and that is a different process from hijacking. I can imagine a ferryman having to do a three year course to get a certificate of ferrymanship even if he's been on the sea or river all his life. Don
I found a pair of prescription glasses with silver coloured frames on the Lawn, Dawlish this evening (Monday 28th June) at around 9.45 p.m. If they belong to you or someone you know, I'll be taking them in to the Police Shop opposite the Lawn tomorrow morning.
