Good poem Don. People will no doubt decide if its all worth reading...they dont seem to have one good point about Dawlish but guess that is the point of the group.

Good to see Dawlish Skip Hire back in business. Have they been taken over by someone else?
Public pressure has forced a delay in the sale of the Manor House, Dawlish. The Town Council has decided to postpone the sale of the historic building after pressure from the public. Over 100 people attended a meeting at St Gregory the Great Church and cheered when councillors expresses support for continued community use of the building.
Dawlish air show may not take off unless more people and companies come forward with sponsorship. Apparently there is a shortfall of around £30,000 for the air show and carnival week. Dawlish carnival week attracts thousands of people into the town.
maybe some things should be exposed for the good of the people, but be wary of grey areas, not everything is black and white
I'd like to make the public aware of a very interesting Facebook fan page we created called the Eyes of Dawlish, This page is full of comments about the council and what the dawlish residents want and need/hate and want to change. It has had over 1000 views in dawlish alone this week and more fans are joining. If you would like to follow the Eyes please click the link below. Regards The Eyes Click ...
I agree, we went to Newton Abbot last Tuesday and they had a Farmers Market that day and it was buzzing. Lots of farm produce and plenty of buyers. Dawlish will never succeed in anything of this nature as the only people who can afford the prices at these markets are wealthy retired people and unfortunately most of the elderly people living in Dawlish are struggling to survive on their measly ...
What is going on there !!!!!!!!!!! Bad results, players leaving, why ?
I too agree that the stock in the shop went from being decent to fuddy duddy. This i guess was its downfall. i like to support as many shops in the Town as i can but unfortunately it came to the stage where it wasnt worth visiting. Good luck in the future to all the friendly staff.
That because so many dont give a fig about the Town full stop. There to busy running it down. I like to say well done to Dawlish Town for putting the towns name on a national map. Its good to see they brought so much extra money into the Town , at a time of year when it is usually dead.
Someone has told me of a scheme where the government pays up to £3,000 for replacements but you have to have tax credits. What is this scheme and what are tax credits? Does anyone know?
Looks like you are going to need all theluck in the world tomorrow, if what ive heard about certain players leaving is true
But we knew didnt we once the LIB-DEMS lost the Tesco/Football Ground battle, no further interest in Sandy Lane. Despite what Conett said he was going to sell out the whole area, but it all depended on that outcome. Maybe handing it back to Dawlish may preserve it for its intended use. Too late for that new monstrocity
Correct. I have since been informed that the refuse collectors are NOT picking up loose black bags now. Only rubbish in your wheelie bin will be collected.
Click on the link below for an excellent article about Dawlish Warren and it's locale. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/safariandwildlifeholidays/7019445/Birdwatching-Devons-got-the-Exe-factor.html Apologies to those who might be averse to clicking on a link to the Torygraph newspaper...

@ZIGGY . might see you at the smugglers. i will have to 'investigate' all those ales. lol
If the Seasiders manage to win the replay against Gresley next Saturday, they will travel to Northamptonshire outfit Long Buckby in the quarter-final.
A warning has been issued about not picking (and more specifically) eating any cockles that you may find washed up on the beach. This particular species of cockle is not edible and may be toxic. It must have been a really strong high tide on Saturday night as I've never seen so many starfish and shellfish washed up on the Dawlish Warren spit as I saw yesterday morning.
Ofsted Inspector Hazel Callaghan spent two days at the school with two other Inspectors before Christmas. The English results at Gatehouse were above the National average. Despite children starting at Gatehouse with a limited range of knowledge and skills for their age, they were also achieving national expectations in maths by the time they left at 11. Head teacher Martyn Boxall said "I am ...
that includes everything for a family of six for the week, if you have never been to one of these supermarkets especially asda i suggest you go and check it out for yourself. as i said shopping locally is ok for me but not everybody.
@PJD. Well said. Yes, dont faint. LOL
Dawlish has been affected by the snow and ice. Refuse collections and Postal services have been disrupted also all school have been closed. People on estates having problems getting onto the main roads because of the lack of gritting. The forecast is more of the same to come.
Interesting point. Who do you think should it be up to?
Because of that sticker (one is also displayed in their Teignmouth shopwindow), I took my business elsewhere and had my tattoo done at Electric Ink.
what a twisted mind you have just like your words, there are certain people that are dedicated to their proffesions and it is accepted that has always been, that they will provide their services 24/7, but in other walks of life not necessary. because of the way life has become i have to work 364 days of the year on minimum wage like many others,(and yes i hve worked today as i did Boxing Day) my ...
This bandstand has to be the biggest joke ever, and shows exactly what the council and the residents of this dying town really are. Apathetic. We are going in to 2010, and the bandstand, or to give it its proper name, the Millennium Bandstand, is 10 years late. Regeneration of Dawlish?? Flatten the place and start again. Get rid of the dregs that infest this town, the druggies, drunkards and ...
I would also like to add, that there in nothing more annoying than people who move into the area and start wanting to change things. There is nothing wrong with the sea wall. It was like that BEFORE you moved here. And no, Im not being horrid, just practical. I hope that you are enjoying living here.
If Dawlish did not have the sea and the holiday trade, The Strand would have little business, it certainly would not survive on local trade alone... Dawlish looks so sad in winter. As I have said before locals will not use the out of town Supermarket as it is a general shopping policy, it will be mainly used by those on holiday or from a wider catchment. Many posted here that they would not go to ...
This my friend, is one of the many things that I, the Investigator, will be putting on my website. No matter how trivial things are, then let me know. This needs to be addressed. I need to gather more information and get some photos uploaded to my website, then I, the Investigator, will show how things do NOT get done in this once wonderful town. Look at my replies to the other top 6, 7, or 8 ...
Whats the point ?? If you believe that, then you must believe in Santa Claus and fairies. What has happened to the Millennium Bandstand?? Remember that?? It is now coming up to 2010, and STILL no bandstand. The current one is an eyesore and an embarrassment to the town. The Investigator will expose all what has happened to Dawlish and what will be happening to the town on his website. The only way ...
The Swan Inn now does excellent food. Far superior than all the rubbish you get in town. As for the Lansdown, who in their right mind would want to eat there? Same as a lot of other places in town. All they serve up is cheap tacky food for cheap tacky chavs, who's only insight to foreign food is a Chinese on a Friday, Kebab or Pizza on a Saturday, and the most exciting of all, a Macdonalds when ...
I think that more to the point, It will be lining someones pocket with a lot of £££'s. The Investigator is on the case.
The Investigator is here, and needs CONCRETE evidence to display all the wrongdoings that this council has done on his website. Why has Tesco miraculously got another chance? It was no surprise, was it.
A very happy Christmas to all. Please spend a moment to think about all our Troops in Afghanistan and their family's. Also all the many Homeless people in these very cold days and nights.
I Am an Gresley FC fan , And shall be coming to the match and we will be bringing over 150 fans and hopefully it shall be a good match , so goodluck
