Hi Guys Great to see that the Spirit of the Exe festival is still going ahead. We'll be holidaying in Dawlish from the 3rd to 17th July and if anyone sees us at the festival then say hello. I've posted a recent photo of our 8 month old grandson in the Photos/Holidays section. Would also like to see a sand sculpture competition as Mark suggested. Last years competition with Rory McGrath and Paddy ...
Very good point well explained
Have to agree June or July would have been a better time. A chance to bring in more people whilst the area is quieter. Maybe a one day event to start off with would be better, and then expanded over the future years if it was a success.
The Horse Show was held last Sunday 20th at Black Forest Farm and was a HUGE success, and for those of you who didnt attend, you missed a great day out in the lovely warm sunshine. Many thanks for those who attended as spectators and especially for those who participated in the show. We really enjoyed looking at the high standard of riding.
Can you believe it.. lovely day like today and not a boat in sight..would be a lovely trip to Exmouth from Dawlish not Starcross!
Have been hearing 'rumours@ - well i hope thats all it is, that someone was shot at the station last week. Any one else heard this or know if it is true?
Hi If anyone's going to the festival then I'd recommend a band playing on the main stage on Saturday. They're a Johnny Cash tribute band called Ring of Fire and if the crowds turn up then what a treat they're in for. I saw this band a few years ago at the Tartan Heart Festival in Belladrum and they had the place rocking. Here's a link to their video on You Tube ...
The grass area at the top half of the playing field is being mown more irregularly than previously leading to speculation that the land is being primed for development. Teignbridge Council say there are no plans to build on that part of the field and the reason they have changed the grass cutting regime is because the pitch and put golf facilities were taken away. There will be paths cut through ...
Other than that, it sounds like you had a great time. Now, about this £1500 parking space...
I thought my reply to DM was polite and informative.
Never under estimate the lack of public taste, kept many a firm in businesses
Hate to say it but this isnt something new to this generation. It has been happening since schools began. Life is what you make it.
Police seen moving on a car parked on a footpath on Sunday in Stockton Road, next day I noticed the same car parked overnight! ..the highway code is not followed, it must be ok to park on a path. So then.. the road is for people to walk in and footpaths are for cars .. I get it now!
Let's just get MUSE and a few local bands to play (OK, SOME FOLKY BANDS AS WELL)... £25 a head would be acceptable ( kids under 14 £10.00 )

This was in Saturday's Express & Echo: Tesco's planning battle with rival store continues TESCO says it has not given up the fight to build a store in Dawlish. The supermarket giant hasbeen embroiled in a battle with Sainsbury's over permission to build a store in the town for more than three years. In March, Teignbridge Council gave Sainsbury's permission to build a store and petrol station at ...

I have always thought that tourists that come to Dawlish were called 'Grockles', but I am sure that if I am wrong someone will put me right. I for one am grateful for the tourists, I am proud of our town and it is so nice to hear visitors say how much they like it here. They bring much needed revenue into the town and it goes without saying that I take more money in the summer than the winter. We ...
I will follow up on the 2 emails that you sent. If you can give me the dates and maybe what time you sent them it would be help ful. Or you can email me on the email address I gave above.
"as far as I could see"... this suggests that you do not actually know the full story. You have also not stated what was said by both parties.
Hi im Danny and I am a Director of Amber Coast Events. We did have a local band playing at the Dawlish Warren ticket launch sadly there wasnt a lot of people listening to them so they decided to leave. That was mainly due to the weather. If you would like to contact me leave a message on Dawlish.com forums or my email is d.ireland@ambercoastevents.co.uk. Thanks
The pea brains are the ignorant bigots who voted for him. His putting himself up for election was nothing to do with having balls, it was all about self-publicity. In fact, just like his soulmate Peter Harry. 82? The Monster Raving Loony Party would have got more votes than that! What time's the next slow boat to Buenos Aires? Adios Sharp...
OK dont do it again.
Many thanks Sue. I didnt think it was going ahead this year. I heard it had been (the organising committee)thrown into turmoil after a resignation from one of the committee members.

One of the newly resurfaced car parks at Dawlish Warren has had part of the meshed area churned up by a lorry. This happened just days after completion and Teignbridge Council will have to shell out £12,000 to sort out the damage.
