Anyone else catch the live interview in Dawlish with Peter Large and the recorded bit showing the handing in of petitions earlier on in the morning to Rosalind Prowse at TDC's offices in Newton Abbot.

Putting to oneside for the moment what the interview and petition were about, the backdrop of The Brook to the Peter Large interview really did show Dawlish in a good light. I was sat watching the interview thinking to myself "Blimey! If I was watching this now and had never been to Dawlish I'd be thinking top myself what a nice looking place with that lovely stream running through the town and with all those ducks on it. Must go and visit."

Thanks for the free publicity BBC!

I think the same as I look over the Lawn and the Brook when I sit outside Bow Windows. Not many towns have somewhere so beautiful right in the middle.

I completely agree with Lynne and Don!!!! Hopefully the fog will lift in time for me to enjoy the view whilst eating breakfast outside the Strand Cafe tomorrow. :-) It would be a better view without cars and lorries belching out fumes along the Strand, but that's another story altogether.....

Dawlish is so unusual in having a main shopping street running alongside lawns, flowerbeds and a river with ducks and swans. There's nowhere else like it in the country. I think it's lovely!
