After several complaints about the 'Around the Courts' thread I have decided to remove it. Although I try not to remove posts if I can help it, this thread was clearly upsetting individuals and did not serve any purpose other than to be vindictive. I hope everyone is OK with this.
I think that is very sensible of you Webmaster. It was a very nasty thread anyway and was not a discussion point Im sure hedgehog69 will be very pleased
No not really , why was it vindictive as the information was availible in the papers. Not exactly impartial.
it goes in the paper and people can read it , but not discuss it on an open forum, it was causing distress to one person I know and although the outcome is listed the full circumstances are not.
Dear Webmaster. Am I allowed to paste future cases (where the defendant is found guilty or pleads guilty) from the newspaper website onto the News section of your website? No discussion, no commentary, just public interest facts. Thanks.
@J Warrener,
The information from the newspaper article(s) was not vindictive. It had been on here for a couple of weeks. Nelson's intention was soley to cause a conflict or argument which is against the forum terms.
Any member can post news articles on here. The same terms apply.
I have no problems with the way you exercise your judgement over the forum. It is obvious that you think carefully before you make your decisions.
Don
Thanks Don. Having thought about it further, I have recovered the thread, left it closed and redacted the name of the person that was being discussed on there.
The reason for this is because when people read the threads on here in the future, it is not very helpful to find a thread missing, particularly when another thread has popped up that is discussing it.
Sorry Jools88 & Brazilnut. A lot of people had contributed to the thread and posted comments that were not vindictive including comments about why this type of discussion should not be pursued.
I think the approach of closing a thread and redacting parts if necessary is probably better than removing threads.
