Interesting demonstartion of democracy in action. I understand that 9 people applied, 5 turned up at the Council meeting last night to make their pitch and the person appointed was one who didn't turn up!! Something rotten in the state of Denmark comes to mind.

Who was appointed then and why didn't s/he turn up?

Ex Carnival

Yeah he was on the Carnival Committee but left a few years back (I guess before it became rubbish!), though he worked hard for the Carnival so should be a good asset!

If my memory serves me well wasn't he a director for the Amber Coast Festival?

Thinks so yea, I think he done their website? didn't know much about it tbh apart from they decided not to go ahead with it due to how big their idea was! Would be nice to see somone put on a big event like that for Dawlish though! If anyone here knows anyone! :D

When did he leave the carnival committee? He was still a spokesman in March 2011 according to this link: http://www.dawlishnewspapers.co.uk/news.cfm?id=9703
