One of the widest reaching consultations in Teignbridge District Council history reaches its next stage this week as the council seeks public views on the latest version of its 20 year plan for the area.

The existing plan is now 15 years old and needs urgent updating if local communities are to avoid ‘planning by appeal’.

Known as the ‘Preferred Options Core Strategy’, the draft plan shows where new jobs, green spaces, other improvements and the homes we need could be in the district.

The draft is based on four years of careful research and consultation which has identified how many jobs and homes are needed to meet the needs of a growing population, along with the best sites to provide them.
