Tree felling going on and what was the grassy cul-de-sac at the top of Carhaix Way is now a way into and out of the building site. Some 250 or so new homes to be built I believe.

(and don't forget that all the new housing will provide lots more customers for that new supermarket just across the way............)

Seems this development now has a new name. No longer Secmaton Rise, but Swans Rise.

That link shows 124 new homes (not 250). Does that mean that more than 1 developer is building there?

No, it was me getting the figure wrong. Sorry. Although...........the adjacent field is Mr G's ex cornfield which also has p/p for houses to be built - circa 250 I believe so I must have gotten my fields confused.

Anyhow........these 124 plus the circa 250 = 374's worth of the 400 houses that are already 'allowed for' in the total to be built over the next 20 years. (see separate thread concerning the dawlish draft plan -consultation no 2 - fewer homes being proposed).

This link gives more details. It also refers to the 31 affordable homes that form part of the development.
