This path raising is nothing more than 'best quick fix' (or 'low hanging fruit' as it gets called these days) to make the wall consistent with how it should have been built on day 1, and to give Dawlish some sort of fighting chance of last winter's collapse not being repeated. Nevertheless, it will be very interesting indeed to see how much debate is generated once the proper long term marine ...

Clive, she's passed away.
@Mrs C - my point is: - Am very pro cycling and cyclists in general for all the good health and environmental advantages it profers one and all, and am very well aware that ultimately (whoever may be at fault) it is motorists who kill cyclists not the other way around. - However, if cyclists wish to be supported by capital investment in dedicated routes then they ALL need to pay heed to the ...
I'd like to thank all the people that took the trouble to point me in different directions. At last , I believe that I've been found someone and at a reasonable price.
A petition will be at Open Daw for signature. Angie the co ordinator has also put it online. She is also hoping to put one is some local shops.
The Environment Agency, Teignbridge District Council and East Devon District Council are working on a beach management project that will look at two key locations on both sides of the estuary, Exmouth and Dawlish Warren. These organisations are working together to stage two public drop-in exhibitions in June to provide some more information on the project and give local people an opportunity to ...

SERVICE ON SUNDAY 15TH JUNE AT 6.30 PM. AT DAWLISH CHRISTIAN SPIRITUALIST CHURCH, 20 ALBERT ST. Tracey, blind since birth, is an absolute inspiration. She travels from Plymouth on her own with support to help her on and off the train and when she has to change trains at Newton Abbot. Of course, she is collected from the Station but all she undertakes, she does with the help and support of her ...

thanks for informing us @Margaret Swift that it was not a private or confidential item and i do hope that in that email it was not an "official" council email. however for goodness sake you have done it again "i have come to expent the responses i get from a very small minority of councillors" have that small miniority of councillors also come to expect the responses they get for you? i guessed ...
Dawlish Carnival, I can't help but to assume that the money the Council give them will go to either the float, or atleast the majority of the float, as that is all they really are interested in or that it will go to thier own pockets. I sincerely hope that the Council keeps close account on everything and really does question every expenditure possible. And of course challenge anything that does ...
I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, but I've just read that the purchaser of Shell Cove House was PegasusLife, who specialise in developing aspirational retirement homes. Some detail here: http://www.pegasuslife.co.uk/portfolio/dawlish-devon/
What do you expect from a right wing rag? Its purpose is to keep us voting conservative and to keep us busy by preying on our anxieties. Within days of the general election win, the right wing papers started turning its guns on people on benefits, immigrants and the disabled, as a ploy to move the spotlight away from big business and MPs stealing from us. The more we are worried about people on ...
After the groundbreaking statement during the winter floods when the organisation representing at least twenty of the UKs leading charities stated that they would not be helping with the flood relief efforts as the people of Somerset where generally wealthy and able to sort out their own problems. A member of my team has now uncovered another scam tatic being used by at least one charity and ...
Dominic Biddlestone set up a tent inside a bedroom of his Dawlish flat where he installed lights, fans, and ventilation. Biddlestone set up a sophisticated cannabis growing operation at his flat to save himself £130 a week he was spending on his drug habit. A gas inspector working at a property nearby became suspicious of the strong smell and call the police. See more... ...
Bradley Daines-Degroot assaulted two victims aged seven and 12. Daines-Degroot was a teenager when the assults took place. He denied there had been any form of sexual contact with either boy. He is autistic and was accompanied by a psychologist in the dock and the witness box throughout his five day trial in April. How old is the hospital? Am intrigued to understand whether it was design, materials, workmanship or act of god that caused the roof to fail. My mother's 60 year old roof is still watertight without any work ever done to it. Sign of the times?
Verity was very controversial when she was placed on the harbour in Illfracombe so i went to visit for the day and have a look very impressive i thought. Now if we could have a sculpture like Verity a little controversial so folk would be curios and come and have a look, my thoughts on the statue of happines landfill comes to mind.
Regions such as the south west of England could be disadvantaged by changes to the way the government funds road and rail projects, says the Transport Select Committee. In a report, the committee said a new system from 2015 would encourage private-sector funding. That could disadvantage regions with less private sector money, said the report. The South West receives the lowest spend on transport ...
But it's in the public domain!
@Lynne & roberta - absolutely don't want uncertainty blighting new housing. I think we can be fairly sure that a west of DAL will be 'an option' in the report. Luckily we only have a few weeks to wait now until finding out how it's cost/benefit is ranked by NR as an option. I will reserve further comment until then!
The seawall (that's the path, Clive) has re-opened between the Rockstone Bridge all the way to the Warren. This is really great news for those of us who have sorely missed this walk.
Does anybody know what the building Is on Dawlish Warren Station (Exeter St. Davids bound side) ? What use Is the building for ?
Absolutely, it means we have a tolerant, democratic society in which such harmless freedoms can be openly expressed. That is exactly why Putin was so incensed, freedom of speech is his biggest enemy and makes him feel vulnerable.
If you do the maths, UKIP's vote as a share of the voting population was: 34% (voting population who cast papers) * 27.5% (UKIP) = 9.35% i.e. Less than 10% actually felt strongly enough against the EU to register a 'protest vote'!! Hardly an earthquake except it was nevertheless the largest share. Make of that what you will.
Could be they were having their AGM and all attendants were there?
Organised by the Dawlish branch of the Royal British Legion, the day long musical extravaganza attracted the crowds who enjoyed the live music as well as bouncy castle, bar and refreshment stalls, barbecue and children’s rides. Highlight of the night was the appearance of up and coming local band Token Joker, who had the crowds rocking. The band are hoping to sign a recording deal soon. See ...
