The Government has also allocated funding for the Dawlish Warren and Exmouth beach management scheme, which will see sand taken from Exmouth’s Pole Sands to shore up the Warren.

This scheme previously included plans to replenish Exmouth beach, but environmental chiefs decided this was not yet needed.

However, they say ensuring Dawlish Warren is not breached by the sea will protect Exmouth and Lympstone.
