@Lynne , Please feel free to debate any subject. I didn't remove Paul's thread because of the subject matter, but because of Paul's comments. It would be the same, for example, if you had posted the links you have with racist comments, but you haven't.

This from Anne Marie Morris on Twitter: "I will ensure that I do not personally benefit from any MP pay rise after 2015. Independently set & cannot be justified."
An elderly lady has been hit by a car at the entrance of Sandly Lane. The traffic had been diverted but now back to normal. The ambulance took a while to arrive, the doctors that arrived just after said the delay was due to a busy night. They are all still there. Hope the lady will be o.k.
Just noticed, it will be 16 days between black bin emptyings over the Christmas period. That really is a rubbish collection.

Enid Blyton's books are just old fashioned. My children didn't enjoy them and chose not to read them themselves, I wouldn't have banned them. There are so many good children's books these days and so much choice. I just wish they'd stop nannying us. We're getting to the point we won't be allowed to think for ourselves.
Good old limp politicains hiding their backbones again.
This could be interesting for car owners. Just announced formally - at last. Consultation open until 14th February 2014 https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/local-authority-parking
was it not available for parking before the Strand re-developement? Only loading bay was outside the Coop, that is still there. And I think you will find Stokes/Lloyd Maunders do have their deliveries early morning
some of these stories are beyond belief
Possibly, but the wrong end of the estate and not "hundreds" - but surely a genuine misunderstanding.

I have just read that the government has decided to change the definition of fuel poverty by ammending the Energy bill. Fuel poverty will be defined as follows: 'Those with above average fuel costs which leaves them with a residual income below the official poverty line' This manipulation of the figures will mean 800000 wil be considered not in fuel poverty. It just proves once again that our ...

If all the bases airforce, army and naval establiments were brought back to England with the shipbuilding how many jobs would that create. The cancellation of the Barnett formula which if my memory serves me totals 30 billion pounds per year to Scotland.Enough Said.goodbye
As a yacht owner i have always wondered why there are no moorings at Dawlish if the wall at boat cove was extended for 700yds and some dredging it would make a great marina and boat owners spend money.
@Ashephard1 - if you're on facebook try eye of dawlish or teignmouth oracle. you're more likely to find something on there.
"Promised" - meaning our good mate Dave will give us a vote.
" Cant see the store would affect Dawlish ..as Waitrose prices would not suit their pocket." What are you trying to say about Dawlish people? Not everyone in Dawlish are living on benefits!
Insert the name of any religion in place of racist, and you get the same result.
A mother and her young child have been rescued from a house fire in Dawlish. Devon and Somerset fire and rescue service were called to the blaze at 10am following a call from the distressed mother. She reported a fire in her kitchen and said her and her young child were unable to evacuate. Fire control remained on the phone with her and gave her fire survival advice, to get her and her child ...
THOUSANDS of pounds have been pledged by East Devon District Council in the hope of bringing forward a scheme that should prevent tonnes of sand being washed across the estuary from Exmouth to Dawlish. Concerns about sand being washed back and forth across the estuary have been going on for years. The sand spit jutting out into the mouth of the Exe estuary from Dawlish Warren serves as a ...
