If you wish to see an "implication" when what in actual fact happened was that by your mentioning the number 14 in your first posting I vaguely remembered the housing policy concerning when 'affordable" housing has to be offered and when not, then that is entirely up to you. My point remains that should it be the case that a lot of small housing developments are put forward, each separately, but ...
The man from Cornwall who blinded his girlfriend by gouging her eyes out is undergoing treatment at the Butler Clinic at Langdon Hospital according to news reports. Shane Jenkin, of Sea Lane, Hayle, Cornwall, had pleaded guilty to a charge of grievous bodily harm with intent, but denied attempted murder. He was handed a life sentence by Judge Christopher Harvey Clark QC at Truro Crown Court today. ...
This will surprise ! The information on which my comments were made was obtained from the warden who is keen that previous unsatisfactory situation does not arise again and that he does not have to sell any of the next brood. Lets see how things develop - I am sure he knows best !
I think it was more to do with the" mob" that was running DT not the football itself, and certain clientele they allowed to use the Clubhouse
Like you MoH I'm a lay person when it comes to all of this but this is how I see the situation. The Dawlish Neighbourhood Plan is not legally binding (and was never going to be) because the public consultations/steering group meetings etc all took place before the Localism Act came into force. Along with other similar schemes (some 200 or so I think) in the country it was pilot scheme designed to ...
South west water have major problems in Dawlish they just will not address the issues because profit has to come before anything else. Wait untill they have to dig up a large section of Exeter road to replace the collapsing sewer from Lady's mile down towards Sainsburys. That should be fun.

Just a little warning about the new strategy being employed by EDF Energy if you happen to owe them money and you don't have a direct debit or other way they can attempt to rob you. They are now sending two company uniformed, trained monkeys around in a marked van. These really intelligent people stand on your doorstep and demand you to pay them, they are well armed with a mobile credit card ...

Dawlish will revive its Violet Ball, an event which started when the popularity of the flowers declined, to raise money for Cancer Research UK and The Strand Centre. In the 1920s and 1930s Dawlish was more famous for its violets than its beaches and many people visiting Dawlish would wear a posy of fresh Devon violets or take home a bottle of its famous Devon Violet Perfume. But as the popularity ...

Dawlish is a pretty town with the sea, lawn, brook and ducks. It's the people that makes any place.. I for one am glad I got out! ....those who dislike the place so much as you see on here should too!
If, no, not if, when we get all those new houses built and all those new people living here want to use the train instead of using their cars (as Devon County Council keeps saying they will) I wonder if the ticket office will then be open for longer and more often?
It started with Osborne's budget and has continued with an omnishambles of bad news for the government ever since. Cameron must dread waking up each morning.
Lynne - don't stand in front of the door when it arrives back at Dawlish station. I made this mistake once when the sea was rough & as the door opened a huge wave came over & drenched me & several others from head to toe!

A convicted murderer attacked a nurse with a rock after being moved from jail to a mental hospital and allowed to go on a shopping trip. Steven Wills became angry after nurse Millie Davis ordered him back to the hospital at Dawlish because he had broken the rules and walked away on his own. He picked up a large stone from the roadside and smashed her over the head. He then hurled a second rock at ...
Wonder if this issue of the sewers not being able to cope at the moment will get raised this Monday and Tuesday when the issue of all the proposed homes gets discussed. Cos with more homes come more people and with more people comes more........well, I'm sure you can guess.
The town could really use a quality hotel however as a plan B replacing Harrisons amusements with a non Lloyds Wetherspoons sounds a good second bet.
Willos for carrot cake and decent mug of tea at really good price. No 1 for delicious pannini's (lovely seeded bread) Cream tea's at Old Mill Tearoom Carvery at the Smugglers (their lasagne is good too) Not quite in Dawlish but I love the Ship Inn at Cockwood - really good food. I find the Mount Pleasant Inn to be a bit hit and miss - have had some good meals but equally when they're just cooking ...
Well Done to the Council ! The palms in Tucks plot have been tidied up and the whole plot looks well for the Jubliee. Now lets hope that the drain pump in the main road next to tucks plot does not get blocked and the huge Crane togethether with its five man team join in the festivities. The unblocking of the pump appears to be a very regular ongoing expensive activity and . excuse the pun, is a ...
