GREAT NEWS!  That, together with the Section 16 windfalls, will make a big difference towards the common aim of improving the town centre for residents and tourists alike.

I presume this should have read Barton Hill. Have not seen any other reports about it so have no idea what she was up to unless she was looking for an outfit for the Christmas party.

On a practical note, the trees act as a wind break and also soak up a great deal of water from the Lawn.

Dawlish Ladies Hockey Club is one of Dawlish's oldest sports set ups and is in danger of closing after almost 60 years. The club is appealing for new members and meets for training sessions every Tuesday evening between 6.30pm and 7.30pm at the all weather pitch at Sandy Lane. Re ripening - yep, bananas will do it, as will apples (that can still be eaten, as opposed to the black bananas). All due to the gas; ethylene. My friends and I often use taxis especially for a night out in Exeter. We usually have difficulty getting a 6 seater and have to wait too long for one to become available. I'm very grateful for this post as we will definitely ring Abacus Taxis in the near future.

Yes great walk but not that easy if you're not a regular walker.  The climb out of Shaldon is notoriously steep and if the weather is as wet as it has been in recent months the back lanes from Beacon Hill down to the estuary can get muddy/slippery/deep!  The last stretch back along the estuary needs a lowish tide otherwise it's just road walking.

It looks a mess with half of it up and the other half hanging down dragging on wet pavements. I understood that it was the Carnival Committee that put it up surely they should take it down. Half a job done, and it does matter because yet again Dawlish looks shabby and uncared for.

There's an article about this in this week's Dawlish Gazette. According to the paper the work is due to start in early January and be finished by beginning of May next year. Work will be suspended over the Easter weekend.

Looks like one of the utility or civil engineering companies are using the old re-cycling centre as a storage yard for materials and lorries. Could be Bailey's. As for the cycle path, didnt the Police authority ask the the council not to proceed with creating a direct escape route for criminal activity on the Warren.

Why should I feel guilty? Phoned the number given on the flyer today as have some things needing dry cleaning. Guess what? The people who ran the dry cleaners in Queen Street on the very same people as are advertising on that flyer.
