The answer to the question has to be. as Labour were in power for 13 years ..they had every chance to make changes, but didnt...so even Labour realised what she did was right for the country.., given the unions and their beloved strikes and terrible state the country was left in 1979..  As you saw on the other post..Labour and Harold Wilson closed more mines then she did...how did he get away with that? ..answer...because Unions are Labour.
