Cofton Country Holidays, Dawlish Warren, have asked planners to approve proposals to provide an area for pitching tents exclusively for use by visitors arriving by public transport.
The proposal site would be an asset to the local area in creating a carbon neutral holiday destination this plugging a gap that exists in the Dawlish Warren area for tenting and camp sites.
During the last ten years provision for tent facilities in Dawlish Warren has fallen by more than 70 per cent.
The application follows the recent completion of the cycle path running along the Southern boundary of the site, giving direct access to ramblers and cyclist.

Simple as I am, I cannot see how setting aside such an area makes "a carbon neutral holiday destination."
The destination itself, i.e. Cofton Country Holidays, who presumably dreamed up this marketing bullshit, is neither more nor less carbon neutral than it was before.
I am weary of spurious claims to environmental cuddliness. (Which bank was it that paraded its desire to reduce printing costs as "New greener banking?")
