Outreach Service helps residents in Dawlish and surrounding areas apply for benefits,the service is likely to close at the end of March due to funding crisis.
To keep the service going a minimum of £25,000 is needed.The service has helped more than 1,900 claim benefits in the last five years, with 30 people supported by benefits specialists at hearings.
The services unaffected by the funding problems include Teignbridge Carers Break, Teignbridge nail cutting service, and Community support services, which offers befriending, dog-walking, gardening and other support.
Councillors and Newton Abbot MP Anne Marie Morris have been told of the situation.
