There's nothing wrong with wealth it's what you do with it I have told the story byefore my father a very wealthy self made man who shared the company's profits with the men who worked for him. He believed that the redistribution of wealth was the correct way to conduct his business
It would be great if there was one of these for building your own car!

I understand the concern people have about developers carelessly building houses anyway, potentially wrecking the whole area and running off with the profits. However when some people moan about it, it comes across as if they just don't want anyone else living here.

To help protect the sea wall at Dawlish, and other vulnerable stretches of the main railway line, then why not do what they have done at Sidmouth (even though they have no railway) and put 2 'artificial islands' just off the beach, which helps break up the waves and protect the sea wall and properties on the esplanade. We had the opportunity to do this some years ago when the sea defences were ...
Thank you so much Paul and DJ for the information, will follow them up
A visitor has admitted taking part in a robbery at a Dawlish holiday camp site where a member of staff was allegedly threatened with an axe. Craig Lockyer pleaded guilty to the £12,000 robbery at the Golden Sands park but a second man denied the charge and police inquiries are continuing into at least one other man. Lockyer, aged 27, of Hillside Close, Radstock, near Bath, admitted robbing holiday ...

I did get outside and do some work, kept the chainsaw going so reasonably warm, that breeze was cold, I'm not moaning I'd sooner have today rather than the past month. Nice picture
@Lynne - i worked at one of the caravan sites down there for several years and it always flooded every year. the water would be up to a foot deep or so along the dyke wall. even with pumps on site the water still came up through the man holes. at the time the water company was aware of the extensive new builds in plan and advised they would not be increasing their facilities anytime soon. says ...

Lynne you made a good point in the previous post about collecting tax from the multinationals that pay little or no tax surely that is the way forward fairness to all is my thought of the day.
There is a ship that sucks sand up at Teignmouth, and takes it into the docks (apparently)
Late notice. If you're interested in trees watch the Great British Garden Revival this evening at 7pm. It's featuring Stone Lane Gardens which is a national arboretum for birch and alder near Chagford - fantastic place.
I have a spare water pump and hoses if anyone gets caught out, also we have spare accomodation if anyone does get flooded out.

We have been given free-wil but unfortunatey not a real undestanding of the benefits or consequences of our choices. However, once we realise that we are more than just physical ...

If someone had told me that an unwanted housing expansion in Dawlish would mean a Mc Donalds in Dawlish. I would have been all for it from the start. Developer's get building.
