STAFF at a South Devon holiday park took customer care to new limits when they delivered a baby.
Distressed holidaymaker Leanne Barnes arrived at the Welcome Holiday Park in Dawlish Warren and immediately went into labour.
She had no idea she was pregnant and no time to get to a hospital.
Undaunted by the emergency staff members Kathryn Hammett and Rachel Addison went into action.
With the help of instructions from the 999 call centre Kathryn, who had a first aid course qualification to her name, was able to deliver the baby girl from a breach position.
Then, with the child struggling to breathe, lifeguard supervisor Keith Mason stepped in to give it CPR.
Kathryn said “The baby was gasping and wasn’t able to breath.
“I rubbed her tummy to try and revive her”.
Mum and child are now doing fine. The baby has been named Carly.
Please tell me how she had no idea she was pregnant i just can not understand it.
when my wife was, she knew .
Sorry to come on here to moan but it looks like the done thing.
Without going into detail on a public forum , it is possible to be pregnant and not know. Its rare but possible
A first cousin of mine had no idea she was pregnant for months. She still had periods etc. Don't ask how or why that's all that I know (in fact I had forgotten all about it until the comments above). Like me, she has a tendency to run to fat with the greatest of ease so........periods still arriving, weight being put on...........why should she think she was pregnant?
