Perhaps this might be the solution http://www.sundayworld.com/top-stories/dog-owners-in-deep-doo-doo-if-they-don-t-bin-it-on-clare-beaches As highlighted for jocularity in Radio 4's 'Have I got News for You', this tannoy system is claimed to be 'motion-activated'.

Yes sorry Clive have a view but away from laptop at present and typing on android with its missing characters on Dawlish.com drives me mad.
I have been in it is a fantastic shop. Looking forward to all the workshops.
That's very harsh, I'm not a know-it-all... If I was, I think the shame of it would make me want to jump off a cliffe...
Agree, although it's just a bog standard cafe nothing special, filtered coffee, breakfasts paninis and the like. It would have been nice to see some imagination used to make it a bit different to all the other cafes. Still I wish it well, Dawlish can do with all the new businesses it can get.
Just saw a notice pinned to the bus stop up by Marina Garage. Thought at first that it was in relation to the accident in that area earlier today but when I phoned someone up I knew would be using that road this evening they said they already knew of the closure because there had been signs up for some time saying that is when road surfacing would be taking place. Still, thought I would post the ...
"Not criticising...but..." Not nice.
A massive Congratulations! from one who wouldn't know where to start in Octopush. So glad that the Town Council gave a grant to help you travel, earlier in the year. Obviously put to great effect. Marvellous.
I've asked Alex Salmond if he'll include it in the Scottish referendum and I've told Dave I'll vote for him if he promises to include it in the European referendum (of course that's not true). I acknowledge this pavilion is more popular that I'd hoped but I still think the Lawn should be a place for calm and quiet recreation, not shattered by kids screaming and basketballs pounding. Have a ...
Thanks, just looked at it. Am surprised, and of course disappointed. With all the chatter from those against I thought it was heading for a resounding rejection. Clearly not. I guess we just have to accept people have different views on what's good for Dawlish and good on those for pushing ideas forward in the first place. Unless... now are you quite sure the voting wasn't rigged? I hope ...
@Lynne - the 'let's look at the alternative/additional options' scenario I wonder, is the belief that it keeps SW MPs happy per see, or that it keeps the MPs happy because they in turn then believe that they are then empowered to pass on the charade to keep their constituents happy? I suspect that NR would genuinely love to have a hassle free shiny new line (why wouldn't they like operational ...
Thank you, could do with a good foot rub.
You could try "Walk This Way" - they meet regularly every week in Dawlish & Teignmouth for walking and coffee. Details on Teignbridge site.

And I completely understand the absolute necessity of Dawlish keeping its station. Devon is littered with resorts that never recovered from losing their station, Ilfracombe being perhaps the best example.
Us i bet . and then will abuse it like a hire car.
Very Well done the staff from Welcome you are hero's

Beauties they were too.
Apparently a bank can become a betting shop without a change of use required as both are financial. It just goes to show your gambling putting your money in to a bank
It's bloody amazing how savings were conveniently found from other areas of the council budget to pay for the groundwork on this doomed proposal, yet essential services like public toilets are still under threat.
Huw - was it Devon County Council staff or Devon County Council councillors who cut the wages beause of central government policy? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-23977843 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-27849772

Just got back from Teignmouth. A379 into Teignmouth just by New Road is cordoned off and traffic is diverted along New Road and then down Exeter Road to get into/out of the town.
Date: 10/07/2014 Time: 06:13 Location: A379, Station Road, Exminster Area: Central County: Devon Two appliances from Danes Castle and Topsham were mobilised to reports of an RTC at the above location. On arrival crews discovered an RTC with one vehicle overturned with all persons free and clear of the vehicle. Crews made the vehicle safe and requested the attendance of BT for damage to a BT ...
...and very well deserving it is too. However, just a little bit of my cynicism tells me...keep piling on the praise of how quick and well it was all done and we will have made at least half a case to commit to nothing major this side of the election.
Not everyone in London gets 'stupid wages', particularly professional engineers (and I don't mean plumbers etc who do very nicely thank you). Professional engineers don't get a penny more than anywhere else in the country, so are actually far worse off in London, assuming they even have a job!! As for the NHS, it may not be a perfect solution, but is still far more equitable than the ...
pay 25% more tax you idiot ,not everyone can afford to pay it as it is,for the sake of maintaining hedges etc,get a life you idiot
Never mind what it is called, we had a nice walk in the rain to Red Rock Cafe today and enjoyed our cup of coffee and bread pudding. Well worth the walk.
If the aerial's pointing towards the back of the town towards Badlake Hill, I think it's Dawlish Relay, and if it's pointing towards Exmouth it's Stockland Hill. I may be wrong though.
25million tonnes of sand, or a million 25tonne lorry loads - that really is quite something - I wonder what King Canute would have to say
I understand that the Environment Agency will allow Teignbridge to resume works in September.
When they see the facts Mrs C hopefully they will realise it is not scaremongering!
Thank you, and will do. Michael
